Societies' False gods
There
has been a resurgence in the mention of "god" in public these days. We
hear Elton John and other singers mentioning God more frequently in their
music. We hear porn stars, like
Mary Carey; and strippers, like
Beyonce
Knowles--professing to be devoted Christians.
I saw an advertisement this week from the United Church of Christ, saying that people have a right to worship God in whatever way they so choose. Here's a paradox ... 17% of the membership of the Unitarian Universalist Church are atheists! Come one! Come all! Make up your own god! This is what is so deadly about Freemasonry, the leaders encourage their members to worship god as they so choose, without any criticisms from fellow masons.
The "Great Architect" as Masons call their god is a homogenous, undefined, one-size-fits-all type of false god. This is the god of light, Baphomet, Lucifer, the Devil (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15). This is the exact same god of Wicca witchcraft and the New Age movement. This is the same god of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). AA encourages members to make up their own higher spiritual power to help them get onto the right path in life. This type of demonic teaching stems from unbelief in the Word of God.
The heathen world does NOT recognize the Bible as God's Word. In an effort to be "diverse" (a dangerous word these days), worldly organizations don't dare promote any one doctrine, religion, or god over another. This is the major problem with groups such as the Freemasons, Alcoholic Anonymous, etc. They promote false gods, which are demonic spirits.
Then there's Brian Wilson's song, God Only Knows. Although the song didn't become popular at the time, it has become an icon of the Beach Boys. The song is extremely popular nowadays and is cherished worldwide. The only problem is that Brian Wilson isn't sure there is a God. When asked by interviewer, Andrew Schwartz, "Are you thinking about God these days?", Wilson replied:

I find it utterly disturbing that any individual could sing about a God he's not sure exists. To make matters even more freakish, Wilson states...
"...I've gone beyond him (Phil Spector) now. I'm doing the spiritual sound, a white spiritual sound. Religious music ... That's the whole movement. That's where I'm going. It's going to scare a lot of people ... That's where I'm going and it's going to scare a lot of people when I get there."

Here's a guy who wants to produce religious music; but isn't sure if God exists. Go figure! Maybe Brian Wilson should go join the Unitarian Universalist Church, where atheists and doubters fit right in.
Oprah Winfrey speaks of God as some inner force within all of us, a higher potential. Here is part of an excellent article exposing Oprah as a New Ager...
One of the most revealing examples was a recent show with guests Betty Eadie, (new age/Mormon author of Embraced By The Light and The Awakening Heart), Dannion Brinkley (new age author of near death experience books Saved By The Light, and At Peace With in the Light) and Sophy Burnham (new age author of A Book of Angels and Angel Letters).
During the show Oprah related, "I was raised a Baptist and we were too hung up on traditional ways. I was sitting in church and heard that God is a jealous God. I asked 'Why?' Come on-let's get over it!" She related a "jealous God" to an insecure God.
In the program Oprah revealed that she doesn't think God is hung up on what you believe about God-whatever that "force" is, it doesn't care what you call it. He doesn't have an ego problem. She states, "I believe in the FORCE-I call it God." She also said if you believe in a rhythm of nature and in love, then you believe in God.
Oprah, in typical New Age fashion, has reduced God to human limitations, and dismisses objective absolutes, substituting emotions as the criteria of truth. This constant refrain of a nebulous concept of love as a guiding principle is very deceptive.
God warns us that the heart is very deceptive (Jeremiah 17:9, Proverbs 12:20). Jesus warns that the heart is an untrustworthy guide for truth, especially the "uncircumcised" heart (Matthew 12:33-35, 15:18,19). New Agers have raised the level of feelings or emotions (intuition) as a navigator beyond all rational proportions.
Particularly instructive for us all is the fact that Oprah doesn't seem to be aware that she has been seduced deeply into the New Age world-view. We say instructive because one could relate to the subtle and deceptive processes that Oprah appears to have fallen prey to.
On one recent show a Christian in the audience challenged Oprah about being a "New Ager." Oprah responded, "I am not new age anything and I resent being called that. I am just trying to open a door so that people can see themselves more clearly and perhaps be the light to get them to God, whatever they may call that. I don't see spirits in the trees and I don't sit in the room with crystals."
Oprah has made the mistake of narrowly defining the New Age Movement. However, read the following beliefs expressed by Oprah over the last few years.
Oprah's close friend and sometimes guest, Shirley MacLaine described on a show how to meditate, going inside yourself, asking your own "intuitive Self" to seek answers to life's questions. Oprah responds, "You know, that is the same as the Bible says, 'Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find'." Shirley confirms.
Oprah then asks Shirley, "When you connected to the higher Self...knowing that you can do anything that you want to do-is it what other people describe as being 'born again'?" Shirley nods, "Yes, probably." -READ MORE
Oprah teaches New Age heresy, and it is everywhere we turn in society today. Grade school children in the public school system are increasingly being taught by some of their teachers to focus and "feel" the energy around them. This is New Age, spiritism, pagan mumbo-jumbo. The Word of God does not teach any such energy or force. God is not some ambiguous energy force--He is an individual, with a personality and an opinion. The Word of God is His opinion, and instructions to mankind. Only a total fool would ignore such a powerful Book (Hebrews 4:12).
Society is filled with FALSE gods. The
Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's) claim that Michael the archangel became Jesus.
In so doing, they deny that Jesus came in the flesh. JW's teach that
Michael came in the flesh.
Hence, the Word of God calls Jehovah's Witnesses ANTI-CHRISTS in 1st John 4:1-3 ... "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world ... every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." We know that this Scripture means much more than just believing that a man named Jesus existed in the flesh, because every false religion believes that. These Scriptures are clearly referring to the pre-incarnate Christ.
Jesus Christ came to this earth as God in the flesh (1st Timothy 3:16). John 1:1 plainly teaches that Jesus was in the beginning with God, and was God ... "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus is the Living Word (John 1:14; Revelation 19:13).
Likewise, the Catholics worship a distorted FALSE god. The god of the Catholics allows for idolatry and Mary worship; BUT, the Word of God condemns even BOWING to statues or images (Exodus 20:4-5). The god of the Catholics allows for all types of debauchery and unholy living in Mardi Gras celebrations around the world, and then they think all will be forgiven during Ash Wednesday and lent. This is evil. The god of the Catholics allows Mary to mediate between God and man; BUT, the word of God strictly condemns such heresy in 1st Timothy 2:5.
Jesus is the ONLY Mediator! The god of the Catholics is the Vatican, the Catholic Church itself. Mary is their God. Romans 10:3-4 describes the Catholic religion perfectly ... "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."
There are literally thousands of concepts of God in society, and they are nearly all wrong. There are 173,000 cults in Japan alone! The ONLY way to decipher and discern the Truth is with the Precious Word of God. I only use the King James Bible (NOT the corrupt New King James either). The wicked seek to redefine God and His Truth in order to condone their wickednesses and rebellion.
This is why the word "sodomite" was completely removed from the New
International Version of the Bible. The word "sodomite" links the
sin of homosexuality with the judgment which came upon the wicked city of
Sodom in the Old Testament. The Devil is subtle, and some of his most
damnable attacks have been upon the Word of God (Romans 1:25).
Who is the God of the Bible?
Jesus Christ is the physical manifestation of the Godhead to mankind (Colossians 2:9). Jesus Christ came to this sin-cursed world as God Almighty incarnate (God in the flesh--1st Timothy 3:16). Jesus is the Son of God, which means He can only be God Himself. Jesus calls Himself "the Almighty" in Revelation 1:8. Jesus claimed to be God in John 10:33. John 1:1-3 declares that Jesus is the Living Word—God Almighty. John 1:14 states that the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. Jesus is that Word that became flesh.
In Revelation 19:13, Jesus is called "The Word of God." Hence, Jesus is the Living Word, and the Bible is the Written Word. To learn the truths of the Bible is to gain the mind of God. There is NO knowledge of God that disagrees with the Word of God. John 17:17 declares that the Word of God is Truth. John 14:6 declares that Jesus is the Truth. The Word of God presents the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ crucified to the lost world. Romans 3:10,23 proclaims that all mankind is sinful. Romans 6:23 declares that our sin makes us worthy of the death penalty. Revelation 20:11-15 warns that all who die in their sins without Christ as Savior will burn in the Lake of Fire forever.
Thankfully, Jesus loved us enough to die on the cross for our sins (Romans 5:8). Jesus paid for our sins with His own precious blood (1st Peter 1:18-19). Hence, it is Jesus' blood that takes our sins away (Colossians 1:14).
This is the Biblical plan of redemption for mankind. All we have to do to be saved is believe upon Christ, and the blood He shed for our sins. To believe is to trust--to completely rely upon. This means we must forsake trusting all self-righteousness, good works, religious ceremonies, baptism, holy communion, the sacraments, prayers, etc, etc, etc. These are all sure roads to Hell. All we need to do to be saved is cease from our own efforts, and trust upon the wonderful Savior who gave His life for us. Jesus is more than just a Prophet, Priest, and King ... He is God Almighty! Jesus is seated on the right-hand of the Father in Heaven.
Jesus is Almighty God! That's who God is! If you want to know God, then you MUST come to Him through Jesus, His Son. This is exactly what John 14:6 teaches, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In John 14:9-10 Jesus goes on to say, "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father ... Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
If you truly want to find God,
then you must trust upon the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and
then you can truly begin to know Him through His Spirit that will indwell you.
God's Holy Spirit will teach, guide, rebuke, encourage, and comfort you as you
live in God's Word.
Thieves and Robbers!
We read in John 10:1, "Verily, verily, I say
unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up
some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." John 10:9
proclaims that JESUS is that Door into Heaven, "I am the door: by me if any
man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."
Getting saved is as simple as walking through a door, if that Door is Jesus.
Jesus warned us in John 10:10 about thieves, "The thief cometh not, but for
to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly." Oh listen friend, New
Age is a thief that will rob you of Heaven.
Catholicism is a thief that will take you to Hell, "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." Society is filled with liars and Satanic deceptions ... thieves and robbers! Oprah Winfrey stated in front of 20,000,000 viewers that Jesus is NOT the only way to Heaven.
She's a liar and is trying to rob you of eternal life which is found ONLY is Jesus, "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:10-12). You are dead wrong Oprah ... Jesus is the Christ, the ONLY way to Heaven!!!
Please don't be duped by the hordes of false prophets in society today. Psychic John Edwards claims to have the ability to connect with "the other side"; but it is Hell that he connects with, NOT Heaven. If John Edwards were of God, then he would preach the Biblical Gospel of Christ Jesus. Sylvia Browne is another popular psychic, charging $500 for a 45-minute consultation. According to her website, there's a long waiting list. Browne is demonic, dabbling in familiar spirits. It is tragic that hundreds-of-millions of people are placing their eternal destiny in the hands of fools like Oprah Winfrey, John Edwards, Char Margolis, Sylvia Browne, Dr. Phil, Benny Hinn, the Pope, etc.
These are the servants of Satan, living for the mammon of this sinful world. They are thieves and robbers, "But woe unto you ... hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in" (Matthew 23:13). Oprah Winfrey is causing millions of people to go to Hell. There is a curse from God upon Oprah, "If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:9).
I am not trying to be unkind, I am trying to warn you ... "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction." Christianity is not a philosophy, or a frame of mind--it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which comes ONLY by trusting upon Him ALONE to forgive your sins.
Adding even one thing to your faith to merit
salvation guarantees eternity in Hell, "For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest
any man should boast."
Conclusion
There are thousands of lies, false gods, and demonic deceptions in the world today. The Word of God is the Light of Truth which exposes them all. The Bible has stood the test of time, and has been wielded by every great soulwinning man of God. In these perilous last days, let us be diligent to study and "rightly divide" the Word of Truth, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2nd Timothy 2:15).
You don't need a doctorates degree in theology to understand 1st Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." Jesus is the Rock, the Stone, upon which our salvation is built. I love king David's testimony in Psalm 62:6, "He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved." Only Jesus! Only Jesus! Salvation is found ONLY in Jesus!
