Blake Shelton's Song Admits Evils Of Booze
By David J. Stewart | July 2007
Here's the lyrics to Country singer Blake Shelton's shameful song, “The More I Drink”...
He was sittin' at the bar, sippin' on a regular Coke
We were drinkin' and smokin' and makin' him the butt of our jokes
We all said, "Man, what happened to you? Why can't you just have a few?"
He said, "I would if I could, but it's probably best that I don't."
[Chorus]
Cause the more I drink, the more I drink
Yeah, I'm the world's greatest lover and a dancin' machine
I get loud, I get proud....and it gets worse
Well if I have one, I'll have thirteen
Naw, there ain't no in-between
Cause, the more I drink, the more I drink.
A couple of cold ones, and somebody hands me a shot.
Hell, even buck-tooth and bow-legged women start lookin' hot
And pretty soon I'm bummin' cigarettes and sweet talkin' some big brunette
Yeah, once I get on a roll, ain't no tellin' where I'll stop
[Chorus]
Yep-yep
Humm, that's what I'm talking about
Man, if I have one, I'll have thirteen
And they can't get me off the karaoke machine,
The more I drink...the more I drink.
Yeah, the more I drink, the more I drink, the more I drink.(emphasis added)
Even the heathen world admits the evils of alcohol. The song is correct, once you start drinking you often can't stop... Cause the more I drink, the more I drink. Would to God that America's preachers would wake up and preach against the evils of alcohol once again, as Billy Sunday did. The consequences of legalized liquor have been horrific. To express the woes of booze would be ineffable. One needs only go visit the local hospital emergency room to see first-hand the consequences of beer. Blake Shelton (full name: Blake Tollison Shelton) is 100% correct about booze...
“Man, if I have one, I'll have thirteen... The more I drink...the more I drink. Yeah, the more I drink, the more I drink, the more I drink.”

I've always questioned the sanity and honesty of the alcohol producers, who tell people to DRINK RESPONSIBLY. How can you be responsible when you're drinking at all? How can a person, after 2 or 3 beers, have enough sense not to drink 5 or 6? They can't!
There is a woeful hypocrisy in our laws in the United States...
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) position on the relationship between blood alcohol concentration and driving is that driving performance degrades after just one drink."
SOURCE: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/people/injury/New-fact-sheet03/Point08BAC.pdf
Which naturally raises the question... why should anyone be allowed to drive legally after drinking even one beer? I mean, if our government is telling us that drinking even ONE BEER degrades people's driving performance, then why does the same government allow people to drink 2 or 3 beers (which will result in a BAC .08)?
It Doesn't Take Much
Actually, a driver can be impaired with a U.S. blood-alcohol level as low as .03.
When you drink alcohol, it goes straight from the stomach to the bloodstream. Alcohol can be detected in the blood as fast as five minutes after drinking, and its effects — most obvious in the central nervous system — peak in about 30 to 45 minutes.
Alcohol depresses the central nervous system which, in turn, impairs motor function, motor performance, speech and eye movements. These skills are not only slowed down, they are performed more inaccurately. Alcohol also affects the ability to think and reason clearly. It only takes one beer to destroy your life and the lives of others! Just ask the countless drivers who have been sentenced to life behind bars for killing someone while impaired by alcohol and driving.
Blake Shelton: The Man Who Sold His Soul To The Devil For Money
All this music is of the Devil nowadays. Pretty much everyone is obsessed with entertainment, so every demon knows where to put a lot of focus, that is, on music, movies, TV shows and video games. Country singer Blake Shelton openly admits that his job is to give the foolhardy public what they want, that is, an irresponsible, stupid, singing drunkard, which sadly has become the image of what it means to be a “Red-neck.”
“If I'm a country artist, my job is to lay my heart and soul on the line. And my heart and soul is being a red-neck, and drinking and being stupid. That's what I do!”

RED-NECK CRAZY!!! The legendary Country singer George Jones was infamous for his drunken exploits, DUI's and wicked lifestyle. The harsh reality is that Americans can't seem to get enough of that type of disgraceful, shameful and Godless lifestyle. The reason why is because they can relate to it. Woe unto the United States for our wickedness!!!
Here are the words of a total fool...
“I don't think I'm ever going to get serious. I'm never going to be political, or religious or anything that's going to get me in more trouble than being wasted all the time already gets me in. ... I drink alcohol and I always will until I die, and I don't care if you like it or not.”

What a sad testimony! Money is not true success. Talent without character is tragic.
In January of 2013, Blake Shelton offended some of the older Country legends, like Ray Price, when he indirectly called them names...
“Country music has to evolve in order to survive. Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa’s music. And I don’t care how many of these old farts around Nashville going, “My God, that ain’t country!” Well that’s because you don’t buy records anymore, jackass. The kids do, and they don’t want to buy the music you were buying.”
SOURCE: Blake Shelton Explains His Controversial Comments | GAC News & Notes
Country music is not evolving, nor can it ever. Country music is Country music and always will be. You cannot change it. The Rock 'N' Roll style of music coming out of Nashville today ISN'T Country. Granted there are some great singers like Darius Rucker and George Strait, but they've all pulling on the same rope as the Devil by joining the occult controlled music industry.
You just read the words of a complete fool. Talent and wisdom are usually opposites. My pastor used to teach us that talent seeks attention, but wisdom pays attention. Our youth have all the wrong heroes these days! The tragic thing is that Blake Shelton has a strong influence over millions of youth, fans who love and idolize him. Blake Shelton is one of the richest entertainers in Country music, having a net worth of $18,200,000. Yet, Mr. Shelton is oh so poor in God's eyes. All the wealth in this earthly world cannot compare to wisdom, which begins with the fear of God.
1st Kings 21:20, “And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.” Booze has always been associated with every manner of wickedness, because alcohol robs a person of control of their brain. Whereas God has given mankind a freewill and doesn't try to control us; the Devil always tries to control people by stealing their mind, hijacking their body and committing all manner of despicable evil.
Most people don't realize (or care) just how deadly alcohol really is, but this chart is an eye-opener...
There never was a good man in the liquor business and never will be one. The very
fact that he is intentionally in a bad business keeps that man from being a good man.One Beer Usually Leads To Another
...Man, if I have one, I'll have thirteen... The more I drink...the more I drink. Yeah, the more I drink, the more I drink, the more I drink. It couldn't be any clearer that alcohol is liquid Devil. Proverbs 20:1 warns about the DECEIT of alcohol. You can go anywhere in this world and you'll soon discover that alcohol and sin are inseparable. Booze is the catalyst that makes it all happen. Whether it be gambling, fornication, et cetera--you'll find beer.
Blake Shelton's song reveals the evils of booze, and why no one should drink it. It's a game of Russian-roulette, where you're taking a chance every time you put alcohol into your body (alcohol is a drug by the way). Do you think any beer drinker intends to kill someone while intoxicated? No, but it happens! Do you think any whiskey drinker intends to hurt a loved one while drunk? No, but it happens every day. Whether it be whiskey, beer, or champagne—alcohol is BAD NEWS! Alcohol is dangerous, because... The more I drink...the more I drink. Yeah, the more I drink, the more I drink, the more I drink. But don't forget, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA), even ONE DRINK makes a driver unfit to be on the road, because the alcohol has already degraded their ability to think clearly.
FACT: Most alcohol-related automobile accidents involve drivers who are NOT legally drunk (which is at .08); but, most fatalities involve drivers with a .08 BAC or higher. Most companies will fire an employee for having a BAC of .04, and some at as low as .001 if a zero-tolerance policy exists. —SOURCE
So why does the government allow people to drive machines weighing thousands of pounds, with a BAC of up to .79? It's insanity!!! With this knowledge, it should be obvious as to the woeful evils of booze. In the U.S., between 1995 and 2005, 188,558 people were killed in alcohol-related accidents. The world panicked in horror, when a Tsunami killed 200,000 people back in 2005; YET, more than that number of people have died in the past 15 years in America alone due to alcohol, and few people care. 1st Corinthians 6:10 condemns the SIN of drunkenness. Tragically, American society glorifies such wickedness.
I didn't write this article to criticize Blake Shelton; but rather, to further expose the dangers of drinking any amount of alcohol. Many people, who have handled their beer drinking well for years, have ended up in court for a DUI, or for involuntary manslaughter when they killed someone while drunk. A local man who killed a Navy woman on a motorcycle while drunk-driving just received LIFE IN PRISON! It only takes ONE TIME. My pastor, Dr. Jack Hyles (1926-2001), used to wisely say... “You can't take two drinks of beer, if you don't take the first.” That's some of the best advice you'll ever hear! You can't take two drinks of beer if you don't take the first!
It may not be tomorrow or next month, but I promise you that the day will come when Blake Shelton will face his demons. IT WILL COME! Ask 27-year-old singer Amy Winehouse who drank herself to death. The coroner found 5 times the legal limit of alcohol. Ask Bon Scott of ACDC, who choked to death on his own drunken vomit. Ask Rick Danko of The Band who drank himself to death and then just 10-years later his own biological son also drank himself to death. Alcohol is of the Devil! The time will come when Blake Shelton will deeply regret his arrogant and sinful boasting about indulging in booze drinking. It's just a matter of time! Proverbs 20:1, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” The Devil is laughing at Blake Shelton. Wine mocks its victims, laughing because Satan knows that it's just a matter of time before tragedy, heartache and death come.
My friend, Blake Shelton has already made his choice, taking the low road in life. But you have a freewill from God and can decide to take the high road instead. I've chosen to take the high road of fidelity and abstinence from alcohol. I've never drank a drop of alcohol and never plan to by God's grace. Many people have become alcoholics and it all started with just a seemingly innocent glass of wine with dinner. That was the enabler, which eventually lead to beer and whiskey. The best policy is to vow never to drink alcohol. NEVER! You don't need it and neither do I. With all the medications readily available these days, no one needs alcohol for medication. Many people fool themselves by claiming that their booze is for their health. You're not fooling anyone except yourself!
With all his $18,200,000 Blake Shelton doesn't have enough sense to know that alcohol kills!!! Watch the news in the years to come and see where Blake Shelton ends up. Watch and see where his binge drinking takes him. Sadly, we'll never see where untold thousands of his loyal fans end up. Some will no doubt meet an early grave. Wives will be beaten. Children will be abused. Traffic fatalities are steadily holding pace each year across the U.S. due to alcohol, claiming the lives of tens-of-thousands of victims. The first case of incest in the Bible never would have happened without the alcohol they brought out of Sodom. Noah went from being the captain of his ship to a drunken sailor because of alcohol. Many husbands and fathers have gone from being the head of their home to a monster because of alcohol. You're playing with fire when you drink alcohol. END
