What Goes On Under Pastor Steven Anderson's Roof Is None Of Our Damn Business!
by David J. Stewart | October 2025
Luke 11:5-6, “And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?”
There has been an ongoing feud between Pastor Roger Jimenez and Pastor Steven Anderson. I side with Brother Anderson, agreeing with his reasoning in this video...
Steven Anderson Responds to Criticism
from Roger Jimenez
I support Pastor Steven Anderson and thank God for him and the soulwinning Faithful Word Baptist Church ministry. It's nobody's damn business what dirty laundry goes on under someone else's roof. We ought not read into anything that we hear on social media. I don't ass-u-me anything!
I love something that Pastor Jack Hyles once said: "First Baptist Church of Hammond will become a great church when we stop saying 'he has sinned" and "she has sinned," and we start saying, "we have sinned." All of the hypocrites attacking Pastor Anderson are self-righteous Pharisees. None of us filthy sinners have a right to condemn another sinner. I humbly don't agree with all of Brother Anderson's doctrinal positions, but I support his soulwinning ministry. I've learned much about the Scripture from him and am thankful for his helpful sermons. God pity the preacher that the world don't hate!
A man is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, where there is proper cross examination of the accuser. There has been no cross examination in the unjust court of public opinion, where anybody can say anything against anyone without due process. It is WRONG to believe Pastor Anderson's accusers (rumors and hearsay) without knowing the full story, which the public doesn't have. It's not our area of jurisdiction to judge others based on slander. Let him who hath ears to hear, hear. Proverbs 18:13, “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.”
The only people who have a right to judge this matter are the members of Faithful Word Baptist Church, and they have chosen to faithfully stand by their pastor. A true friend is a friend at midnight.
Kindly said, I completely disagree with Pastor Roger Jimenez's criticisms of Pastor Anderson. Like Job's ungodly miserable comforters for friends (Job 16:2), Pastor Jimenez is publicly saying that since the Anderson's four children are speaking evil of their Mom and Dad, the parents must be obviously guilty and should confess publicly. That is so wrong on multiple levels! That is exactly what Job's carnal friends did to him, alleging that either Job or his children must be guilty of sinning. The truth is that God was testing Job, and neither he nor his children had sinned to bring evil upon Job and his family.
As far as I am concerned, Roger Jimenez was never a friend at all to Brother Anderson. You don't kick your best friend when he is down in life, when he is under attack from the enemy. Pastor Jimenez has no business or right to demand that Pastor Anderson make a public statement to explain the accusations against himself and his wife.
This situation reminds me of something I recently read by George Godfrey, who was a teacher for 16 years at Hyles-Anderson College (I had him for “Soulwinning In A New Testament Church” for one of my freshman classes); Mr. Godfrey was an influential member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, to whom Dr. Hyles gave an honorary Doctorates degree at one of their annual “Pastor's School.” Dr. Godfrey's wife often played the organ at church and the college.
According to Mr. Godfrey, someone unanimously put a note in his mailbox at the college, accusing Dr. Hyles' of adultery with his secretary. So, as George Godfrey tells the story, he went to Pastor Jack Hyles about the issue and pleaded with him repeatedly to remove the alleged “secret door” between his office and his secretary's office. Dr. Hyles denied that there ever was a door; but even if there was an access door between their offices, who the hell cares because she was his secretary! Upon listening to Brother Godfrey's serious allegation of immorality, Pastor Hyles was understandably offended and refused to entertain such nonsense. Now folks, if this story be true, I would have done the same exact thing that Brother Hyles did. I would have kindly told George, “What goes on inside my office is none of your damn business! And if you are foolish enough to believe the slander, then that is your problem, not mine.” Folks, a preacher doesn't have to explain himself when hateful critics slander him.
I am not condoning sin; I am simply saying that it is not our job to police our Christian brethren. I have no right to act on mere rumors and hearsay about a person. Roger Jimenez has only one thing to decide, which is whether or not he wants to continue fellowshipping and supporting Pastor Anderson and his ministry. Pastor Jimenez is very wrong to allege guilt because there are four accusers. Sadly, this is all childish behavior. It was a wicked group of Pharisees who falsely accused our Lord Jesus Christ. It was two wicked men who falsely accused innocent Naboth, so that wicked Jezebel could steal his vineyard for wicked Ahab. It was a group of wicked men who falsely accused the prophet Daniel, so that he was cast into a den of hungry lions. False accusers are everywhere!
It is very wrong to blame parents for what their adult children do. Immature teenagers tend to blame Mom and Dad for their difficulties in life. Pastor Anderson brings up a good point about tattoos. He has always preached against wearing tattoos. The Anderson parents taught their children (by example and by virtue) not to get tattoos, but some of their adult sons are wearing tattoos. Is that the parent's fault? This is a wicked generation of blaming others. Only spoiled brats wash their family's dirty laundry in public. GET RIGHT WITH GOD!!!
In my humble opinion, the only reason why the Anderson's four oldest children have attacked their parents on social media is because they know their father is a well known (both loved and hated) fundamentalist Baptist preacher. In their human carnality, they wanted to hurt their father! That is a negative reflection on the kids, not the parents. Even the best parents still raise sinful children!
The great evangelist Billy Sunday (1862-1935) and his wife, Helen Sunday (aka, “Ma Sunday”) had three sons, all of whom were public drunkards. Their eldest son, George, commit suicide in 1933 after striking his wife and yelling at his mother to leave. George had also been recently arrested for public intoxication and stealing a vehicle. Were Billy and Ma Sunday to blame for Gorge's sins and death? No, of course not, although as a parent myself I humbly have no doubt that they felt partly to blame.
It is evil to assume guilt based upon multiple accusations. That is why we have a court system with juries. A man is to be deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only a wicked person assumes guilt without proper due court procedure, unless you know someone is guilty. I don't live in Arizona. I've never been to the Anderson's home, and neither have 99.99% of their accusers. Yet, ungodly fools hear or read some slander on social media and then demand that Pastor Anderson admit guilt. That is evil folks! Moreover, it's simply none of anyone's damn business!
I learned a truth long ago—for those who believe, no explanation is necessary; for those who believe not, no explanation is possible. Your true friends don't need an explanation, and your enemies won't accept one if you do.
