Why Does Audio In MixCraft Play Garbled?
by David J. Stewart | November 2022
To the point, go to “File,” then go down to “Set New Project Defaults.” Remove the checkmark from “Auto Beatmatch.” That should remedy your problem, it did for me.
Every time that I would “Insert” any audio MP3, it would suddenly increase in tempo and skip ahead a bit, playing garbled. All of my finished mixed down audio tracks were garbage, totally useless.
The problem went on for months, but nothing worked. I couldn't find any information to contact Acoustica (the makers of MixCraft software). That is so frustrating! All of the online solutions provided by Acoustica's knowledge base is worthless. I hate when companies brush customers off on a data base. Acoustica's help forum kept suggesting that I disabled my CPU throttling, which didn't work. They said to disable my computer's power saving option, setting it instead to “High Performance,” which I did but it didn't work either. I was going in circles for months!
Lo and behold, a gentleman in the Acoustic forum suggested that I disable “Warp” under the sound tab at the bottom of the MixCraft screen. My Warp had never been enabled, so that wasn't the solution. However, he got me thinking that perhaps the problem has something to do with beat timing, so I went to look in my settings. Sure enough, I noticed that my setting for all new projects was set by default to enabled “Auto Beatmatch.” I had enabled this several months ago to match my MIDI drum beats with the imported audio track, which is helpful. But I didn't know that having Beatmatch enabled would garble, skip, pop and make erratic all my audio tracks. It did!
So just remove the checkmark from the box for “Auto Beatmatch” and the problem should go away. It worked for me.
