Catholic Confirmation is of the Devil
By David J. Stewart
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia at NewAdvent.org, confirmation is...
A sacrament in which the Holy Ghost is given to those already baptized in order to make them strong and perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ.
This is a still another damnable heresy of Roman Catholicism. Oh! When will Catholics forsake the great whore of Mariolatry and start following the Word of God, "For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men... Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition" (Mark 7:8-9).
The Catholic tradition of confirmation is demonic. It is God who gives His Spirit, and not men. Even the wicked Pharisees of Jesus' day were not so arrogant as to claim the power to forgive sin (Luke 5:21), as do Catholic priests. The claim that a priest has the power to impart the Holy Spirit to people is blasphemy!
Comparison between "Catechism of the Catholic Church"
(published in 1995 by Doubleday, 1540 Broadway, New York, New York 10036)
and the Bible -- the Authorized King James Version of 1611
Roman Catholic Church Catechism Bible Confirmation Gives Holy Spirit "Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us MORE FIRMLY into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church.." (#1316, p. 367)
God Gives Holy Spirit If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke 11:13Confirmation Puts Us More Firmly in Christ "Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us MORE FIRMLY into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church.." (#1316, p. 367)
"Confirmation, like Baptism, imprints a spiritual mark or indelible character on the Christian's soul..." (#1317, p. 367)
You are either "in Christ" or "out of Christ" (a) No such thing as being more "firmly" into Christ. One is either "In Christ, or "Out" of Christ.
"Therefore if any man be IN CHRIST, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.
--2 Cor. 5:17 (b) Once you are "IN CHRIST," nothing can take you out of Christ.
...him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
--John 6:37 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is IN CHRIST JESUS our Lord."
--Rom. 8:38-39 (c) No need to be more "firmly incorporated into Christ." "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are IN CHRIST JESUS, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
--Rom. 8:1 (d) There is nothing in the Bible about "imprinting a spiritual mark on a Christian's soul. This being the case, why does the Catholic religion practice this? Because it is CATHOLIC TRADITION, NOT God's word.
Confirmation Binds People to the Catholic Religion "For by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly BOUND TO THE CHURCH..."[Roman Catholic Church] (#1285, p. 358)
Confirmation Binds People to Satan
Jesus makes people free, but Satan binds them in prison. In Isaiah 14:16-17 the people look at a cast down, brought down Lucifer asking:Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
The Catholic religion binds people to its own traditions which are the opposite of God's. Does not Satan pervert and turn inside out everything that God says? God told Adam "Don't eat from the tree. What did Satan tell Eve? "Eat from the tree." God says, "I'll seal you with my Holy Spirit." Satan says, "The priest will seal you with my Holy Spirit."
No need to be "bound" to the rituals of the Roman Catholic Church. Christ doesn't "bind" you to man-made traditions. He sets people FREE!
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be FREE INDEED."
--John 8:36 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith CHRIST hath made us free.."
--Gal. 5:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
-- Luke 4:18 Please see, Catechism vs. the Bible
The following information is from Chapter 27 of the excellent book Understanding Roman Catholicism by Rick Jones:
Confirmation, besides being one of the sacraments necessary for salvation, also provides Catholics with other benefits, says the Catechism:
"Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church..." Pg. 333, #1316 Supposedly, Confirmation incorporates Catholics more firmly into Christ. But the Bible teaches no such doctrine. According to God's Word, you are either in Christ or you are not. Being more firmly incorporated into Christ is never taught:
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 Once you are born into God's family, there is no person or thing that can remove you from it:
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 A child of God does not need to be more firmly incorporated into Christ:
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1 "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." Ephesians 2:13
A spiritual imprint?
Another supposed benefit of Confirmation is that:
"Confirmation, like Baptism, imprints a spiritual mark or indelible character on the Christian's soul..." Pg. 333, #1317 You can search the Bible, but you will not read about the imprinting of spiritual marks on a Christian's souls. The Catechism tells us why:
"The imposition of hands is rightly recognized by the Catholic tradition as the origin of the sacrament of Confirmation..." Pg. 326 #1288 Confirmation is not in the Bible because it's a tradition of men... a life-long tradition that is to be performed up until the last moment of a Catholic's life:
"If a Christian is in danger of death, any priest should give him Confirmation. Indeed, the Church desires that none of her children, even the youngest, should depart this world without having been perfected by the Holy Spirit with the gift of Christ 's fullness." Pg. 332, #1314 The real purpose of Confirmation
The practical result is that this ritual brings people into deeper bondage to the Catholic church. Surprisingly, the Catechism admits this:
"For by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church..." Pg. 326 #1285 But why would anyone need or want to be bound to the rules of the Catholic church, considering that Jesus came to set people free?
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free..." Galatians 5:1
Conclusion
Is the man-made Roman Catholic tradition of Confirmation necessary for salvation?
- God's Holy Word emphatically states, "No!"
- The Catholic church disregards the Bible and insists that it is.
Who will you believe... the Word of God, or the commandments of men?
"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9 END

No priest can give you the Holy Spirit of God. God is not for sale my friend, as Simon the former sorcerer found out in Acts 8:20. Catholic priests sinfully and arrogantly claim to have the power to forgive people's sins, and to give them the Holy Spirit. This is utter wickedness. Truly, Catholicism is a prisonhouse of religion. From the cradle to the casket, the Catholic Church offers a complete religious package; but they are going about to establish their own righteousness, instead of seeking Christ's righteousness. Romans 10:3,4 states... "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." It's amazing to me how willingly ignorant people are today. I mean, the Bible gives us numerous references warning us that Satan often appears as the GOOD GUY, i.e., an angel of light (2nd Corinthians 11:13-14). We are plainly warned in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Trust me friend, your Catholic priest is a ravenous wolf in his soul. He might be a nice person, generous, and respectable on the outside; but he has defied the Word of God by following Satanic traditions which totally violate the Word of God.
I'll give you a perfect example of the wickedness of Catholicism:
Every Catholic priest highly esteems Our Lady of Fatima. But did you know that Our Lady of Fatima, i.e., the Blessed Virgin Mary, promised eternal life to anyone who comes to her by way of reciting the Rosary. The 5th of the 15 promises made by Our Lady of Fatima concerning the Rosary is so blasphemous that it is unmistakable, clear, proof, that Catholics do indeed worship Mary (which is sinful idolatry). Here's the 5th promise...
The soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. -SOURCE
Blasphemy!!! You cannot show me even one Scripture from the Word of God where we are told to trust in Mary, by reciting the Rosary to be saved. In fact, the word "Rosary" is NOT a Bible term. The Rosary is straight out of the pits of Hell. Jesus condemned vain repetition in Matthew 6:7. According to Our Lady of Fatima (whose teachings are officially sanctioned by the Vatican), a person can obtain eternal life through Mary by reciting the Rosary. In sharp contrast, Jesus Christ proclaimed in John 14:6... "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." How could Catholics be so arrogant, so blind, and so apostate as to believe that salvation is found in Mary? I tell you, Catholicism is of the Devil.
Oh listen friend, you have been lied to by the Catholic Church. Most of the nonsense they teach cannot be supported from the Word of God (the very Book that they claim to believe). To elevate men's traditions (such as the Catholic Catechism) to the same level as God's Word is evil. There is no other source of Divine Truth than the precious Word of God, and I believe that to be the King James Bible in the English language today.
