'O Christmas Tree' Idolatry
By David J. Stewart | December 2011
The 2010 song 'Oh Christmas Tree' by GLEE is being aired in stores and restaurants all across the America. Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album is the fourth soundtrack album by the cast of the American musical television series Glee. 'O Christmas Tree' is one of the songs on the album and it's a mockery of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Here's the idolatrous lyrics by GLEE...
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Such pleasure do you bring me
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Such pleasure do you bring meForget about God, these heathens get joy and glee from a decorated tree instead of the birth of Jesus Christ...
Oh every year this Christmas tree
Brings to us such joy and glee
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Such pleasure do you bring meJesus Christ means nothing to these ingrates. They don't deserve the Savior, none of us do.
Below they mock God, implying that worshipping one's Christmas tree brings heavenly peace. It's blasphemy against the God of the Bible! These people worship the almighty Christmas tree instead of the Lord Jesus Christ...
(sleep in heavenly, sleep in heavenly)
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Oh ever green unchanging
A symbol of good will and love
You'll ever be unchangingOnly God is unchanging (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8).
The Christmas tree is not a symbol of good will and love as you just read (and I don't know anyone who thinks that it is). Christmas trees have become a symbol of greedy retailers, a culture of swapping presents at Christmas time. Instead of focusing on the gift of God's dear Son for the sins of mankind, these ingrates who sing 'O Christmas Tree' focus on the gifts which men give each other. God is not mentioned in the song.
Let's look at more of the lyrics to the song, 'O Christmas tree' by GLEE...
Each shining light each silver bell
No other light spreads cheer so wellNo other light spreads cheer so well? What a lie of Satan! Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12). I really hate this disgusting song; it is so lacking of respect for God. After all that God has done for us undeserving sinners, people sing praises to how precious their Christmas tree means to them. They don't need to bow upon their hands and knees in worship of their Christmas tree, this song does it for them (in their ungrateful wicked hearts).
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
You'll ever be unchangingI would be utterly ashamed to sing such a horrible song, robbing God of praises due only Him (Isaiah 42:8). If you can sing this song, and truly admire a lousy tree as being so precious to you, then you have serious spiritual issues. I know that some people would argue that it's only a song; but that's the same mentality of television viewers who fail to see the detrimental effects of TV on the developing innocent minds of children (and the detrimental spiritual impact on minds of all ages). Music is not harmless, it is a powerful medium of communication. Most parents think that Santa Claus and Harry Potter are harmless to children. What do you expect from a society where 51,000,000 women have murdered their babies? This Rock 'N' Roll society of rebels and God-haters is of the Devil.
Another thing that irritates me immensely is how they sing reverently toward a Christmas tree, in a slow and dignified manner; but then dishonor the Lord's name by singing an upbeat tempo blues song, bb-ba-bbb-ba-ba Je-Je-Je-susJ-J-J-J-J-J-Je-sus!!! Yeah, oh yeah, whoa, o-o-o, baby, whew! Get down tonight! It's sickening to hear people totally dishonor the name above every other name, Jesus.
Whether removing Christ entirely by referring to X-MAS; or by sinfully teaching children about Santa Claus [who is omnipotent (can fly and do miracles), omnipresent (delivers presents to the whole world in one night) and omniscient (knows if you've been thinking naughty or nice all year round); or by desecrating Jesus' holy name by butchering it in a song... one way or another the wicked are going to rid the world of the name of Jesus, dishonor Him and spitting in God's face in return for His great unconditional love and the gift of His dear Son (John 3:16). We all deserve to burn in Hell for ever!
I hate Christmas, because people have corrupted its meaning into a sinful time of Santa Claus, holiday drunkenness, gluttony, and of idolizing Christmas trees. I saw some Elvis Presley ornaments today at Kmart (decorations for the Christmas tree). It's sickening. Why don't they sell Elvis on the toilet that they found has lifeless drug-addicted body on at only age 42? The king, Elvis, died on his throne! Elvis isn't my hero. While people starve to death, Americans worship Elvis, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Christmas trees... anything except the precious Lord Jesus Christ. We are a society gone wild! Elvis is dead! I mean he is literally dead. Yet many people still idolize Elvis, who was (and still is) a musical icon of sexual immorality, rebellion and religious heathendom.
What's on your tree? According to retired FBI agent Gary Aldrich, in his book, Unlimited Access: An FBI Agent Inside the Clinton White House, pg. 105-106, when First Lady Hillary Clinton was in charge of the White House Christmas tree, her idea of festive ornaments included crack pipes, condoms and various sex toys. Welcome to America!
'O Christmas Tree' is no better than 'Sympathy For The Devil' by The Rolling Stones. Either way, God is being robbed of praise that He is rightfully due from mankind. Most of our American culture today is anti-God and anti-Christianity. I'll get to the blasphemous term X-MAS in a moment. We spit on God as a nation. I pray for God to punish our nation. We deserve a Police State, for being complacent and tolerating sin. That's why people tolerate government tyranny, that is, because their foolish hearts have been darkened by Satan.
If people don't care about the sin of abortion, and they don't care about the sin of homosexuality, and they don't care about the evil public schools, and they don't care about the evils of drunkenness; then pray tell me, what makes you think that they'll care ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE??? It's not that hard to figure out! People don't care anymore! People who don't care about God won't care about their fellow mankind either. Until people start caring about morality, then they won't care about liberty nor freedom either. Americans have been lulled into a semi-unconscious state of psychosis.
Blasphemy is anything which mocks, speak evil of, or attempts to replace God. This song is so evil, attempting to substitute the true meaning of Christ in Christmas with a worldly message of pleasure, self-fulfillment and baseless joy. It's absolutely sickening. I wanted to vomit as I listened to the cast of Glee sing this song. I mean, the Bible proclaims that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and forever (Hebrews 13:8); not a lousy Christmas tree! It's blasphemy to attribute such omnipotence to a Christmas tree.
The lyrics say “each shining light, each silver bell; no other light spreads cheer so well.” What about the gospel of Jesus Christ? The Bible says that Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12); not a lousy Christmas tree! John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
The writers and singers of the song even mock God directly by echoing in the background the words, “sleep in heavenly, sleep in heavenly.” What does a rotten Christmas tree have to do with Heaven? The lyrics imply that the pleasures given by a Christmas tree cause a person to rest in heavenly peace; but this is not what the Bible teaches at all. If you don't have Jesus Christ, you can never have genuine peace.
If you are born-again by the Spirit of God (John 3:5-8), then you have the literal Holy Spirit of Christ dwelling in you (Romans 8:9); and thus, can have genuine peace despite deathly circumstances and overwhelming mental anguish, grief and torment of soul in this life. Sometimes one's faith in God is all that there is remaining to cling to in life. Ah, but the faith that comes forth out of such tribulation is as pure as fine gold. A faith must be tested in order to produce the sweet relationship with God that only comes through trials and tribulations.
X-MAS is for Ingrates!
You're a total ingrate if you go around replacing the Son of God with X-MAS. Jesus paid for your sins and gave you the hope of eternal life if you receive and trust Him (John 1:12-13). This wicked world doesn't want God in their mind (Romans 1:28). Everywhere that we go today in American society, we see “X-MAS,” which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Of all the holidays, only “Christ” is replaced with the letter “X” in this ungrateful country. It is shameful.
Think about it. People curse in God's name in casual conversation as well as when they're angry. They sing “O Christmas Tree” in pagan worship of a decorated tree. They call Christmas “X-MAS” instead, dishonoring and blaspheming their Creator, and the very God that they curse all day long. They teach little innocent children about Santa Claus instead of Jesus Christ (and on Easter it's the cute Easter Bunny instead of the risen Savior). What a sorry nation of unbelievers! Death is around the corner friend, and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).
They don't even realize that their entire life is saturated with anti-God, anti-Christ and anti-Bible behavior. No wonder we read in Romans 1:28-29, And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness...” This accurately describes American culture today... BEING FILLED WITH ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS!!! Notice that they DID NOT LIKE TO RETAIN GOD IN THEIR KNOWLEDGE!!!
I don't know about you, but I love God and want His thoughts with me all the time. Here's one of my favorite Scriptures, which tells us perhaps why David was a man after God's own heart... Psalms 139:17, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” David loved God's thoughts! If you want God's heart, it must begin with God's thoughts. Oh how precious is the King James Bible!!!
You can keep your lousy Christmas tree. I'll sing, 'O Jesus Christ!' I'll sing, 'Oh Word of God!' I'll sing, 'Oh Holy Spirit!' Meanwhile you can sing, 'Oh Christmas tree!'
"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." —2nd Thessalonians 1:8
Ye Must Be Born Again! | You Need HIS Righteousness!
