Dr. Robert Morey's Unbiblical Teachings
By David J. Stewart | November 2012
2nd Peter 3:15-16, “...even as our beloved brother Paul... As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” [emphasis added]
Thank you Alexei in Brazil for the information to publish this needful article online, exposing Dr. Robert Morey as another heretic who complicates and corrupts the simplicity that is in Christ. 2nd Corinthians 11:3, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
“Robert Morey (born 1946) is a Christian apologist and pastor who has written a number of books and pamphlets. He strongly criticizes Islam, Wicca, and non-Evangelical Christian beliefs. He is the founder of the unaccredited California Biblical University and Seminary.[1]”

Dr. Robert Morey is an admirable man and I respect his right to his own opinion. Albeit, I am compelled as a Christian to contend for the Christian faith. Here's some basic information about Dr. Morey from his own website...
“It should be noted that Dr. Robert A. Morey as a young protégé with an IQ of 185 was selected by Yale University in the tenth grade of high school to become part of its Student Mathematics Study Group (SMSG). Dr. Bob is also a Greek and Hebrew scholar and has debated some of the top scholars in the world who are against Christianity.”

Dr. Morey Errantly Denies The Eternal Security Of The BelieverIn his heretical video titled, “Eternal Security And Apostasy,” Dr. Morey denies the Biblical doctrine of the eternal security of the Christian believer...
“If salvation is eternal and permanent, why is the new testament filled with all these warnings... If...”
Dr. Morey (as do many others) horribly misinterprets the Bible in an attempt to justify their false teachings that there is no total assurance of salvation. Morey is wrong. He claims that there are many passages in the New Testament which teach that salvation can be lost, but he is very wrong. Here's one example of a Scripture that Calvinists attempt to use to teach that a believer can fall away from grace and lose salvation...
Hebrews 4:11, “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”
Verse 10 explains the meaning of verse 11...
Hebrews 4:10, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.”
The Bible is talking about ceasing from one's own self-righteousness and instead trusting upon Jesus Christ. The Jews in the Wilderness didn't have faith in the gospel and many perished and went to Hell (Hebrews 4:1-2). They were never saved to begin with.
There is no “IF” once a person gets saved. If saved, always saved. You're salvation is eternally secure because God PROMISED to save those who believe. Titus 1:2 even calls eternal life a promise. Titus 1:2, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Morey is naive concerning Biblical truth, but he thinks he is wise. I thank God that I am not that smart, and that I still believe in eternally security and the gift of God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” My friend, we live right because we ARE saved, not to GET saved. That's the big difference.
Another popular Scripture that Calvinists butcher is Hebrews 6:4-6...
Hebrews 6:4-6, “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
This passage of Scripture plainly talks about getting saved, not losing salvation. If a person has heard the gospel, and the Holy Spirit has dealt with their heart about getting saved, and that person still refuses to receive the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, then that individual has missed their only way to Heaven. Acts 4:10-12 proclaims that there is no salvation apart from the precious name of Jesus Christ. That's what Hebrews 6:4-6 means. You are freshly crucifying the Lord if you deny Him, crucifying Him in your own heart, instead of believing on Him as God commands. God's Spirit may never convict your heart again about your lost condition.
Read the utter heresy that Dr. Morey propagates on YouTube...
“Professing Christians can and do fall away from the faith, stop believing, or through immorality and heresy no longer continue in the Christian way and they end up in Hell. Reformed people believe professing Christians can and do fall away.”
Bob Morey is a big time false prophet!!! It is interesting that Morey continually tries to hide behind the “reformed people.” Charles H. Surgeon didn't teach the Lordship Salvation garbage that ministers do today. We're not supposed to follow reformed nor non-reformed people; but rather, the holy Scriptures. I'm tired of everybody following John Calvin, Jacob Arminius and Martin Luther (Protestants). We ought to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES as Jesus commanded in John 5:39.
Dr. Morey falsely teaches that a Christian believer that goes into immorality is unsaved...
“I have friends who were in seminary with me. Some of them fell away because they got involved in immorality, sleeping with the church secretary...”
Morey thinks that a believer who goes into sin loses their salvation, but that is totally unbiblical. No one can lose what was not theirs to give in the first place. A gift is unconditionally given, with no strings attached. If a gift can be taken away or forfeited because of sin, then it was really a reward instead of a genuine gift. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15; Ephesians 2:8-9), paid for by Jesus' precious literal, physical, blood (1st Peter 1:18-19). Morey is trampling underfoot the gift of God by requiring believers to maintain good works to stay saved.
God promises to save the ungodly who believe on the Lord (Romans 4:5-6). All men are ungodly. The only way to become righteous is by Christ's imputed righteousness, which is solely by faith in the gospel. Once declared justified by Christ's righteousness, nothing can ever jeopardize the eternal security of that believer. It is ridiculous to believe that salvation can be gained, lost, gained, lost, gained, lost, et cetera. Once you're born-again, God NEVER disowns nor forsakes us, as He has so promised in Hebrews 13:5 (and that includes when we forsake Him). Hebrews 13:5, “...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Morey says God will forsake you and take away your salvation if you commit sexual immorality with the secretary. What kind of gift can be taken away or lost?
We may forsake God, but He'll never forsake us if we are His child. The Bible is filled with believers who fled from God's will; such as Jonah, Samson and Demas. Some of the Pharisees believed, but concealed their faith, because the Bible says that they loved the praises of men more than the praises of God (John 12:43).
Morey fails to understand that eternal life is a gift from God, which is based solely in Christ's righteousness and not our own self-righteousness. Romans 4:5-6, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.” We're saved because of what Christ did for us to pay for our sins at Calvary, and not because of our lifestyle. We are not saved by good works, and we cannot become unsaved because of bad works. Jesus taught that salvation is a new birth, that is, a spiritual, second, birth into God's family.
Being born-again is as irreversible as the first, physical, birth and cannot be undone. Any person who claims that they used to be a Christian may have had the philosophy of Christianity, or the lifestyle of Christianity; but they did not experience the new birth by faith alone in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Morey sincerely but ignorantly corrupts the grace of God, making salvation by works instead of by faith.
Dr. Morey Errantly Teaches That God Doesn't Love Everyone
Dr. Robert A. Morey is a five point Calvinist and therefore teaches the five points of death, because none of them are Scriptural but mental constructs as known as imagination and false science.
1st Timothy 6:20, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.”
On his YouTube video “Does God Love Everyone?,” Dr. Morey says:
“Does the Bible anywhere teach that God loves every human being from Adam to the last human being ever born, or does the Bible teach that God hates some people as well as loves some other people?”
SOURCE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxZKJSNVgqM (0:48 seconds through 1:06 seconds)
Dr. Morey doesn't differentiate between agape love and phileo love in the Bible. God agapes everybody, but He only phileos those who obey Him and are saved. Agape is God's unconditional love which sent Christ to the cross to die for the sins of the whole world.
1st John 2:2, “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
How much clearer could the Bible be that Christ died for all humanity, and that includes the vilest Christ-rejecter.
Phileo is a personal fondness for someone, as we have for loved ones that are close to our heart. God only phileos those who obey Him and love Him. God is not fond of Christ-rejecters; but rather, God is angry with them every day (Psalms 7:11; John 3:36). Dr. Morey, as all Calvinists, fails to comprehend the unconditional love of God for all mankind.
Dr. Morey teaches in his video, “Does God Love His Enemies?,” that Jesus DOESN'T love His enemies. Morey is errant in his Calvinistic doctrines. The Lord loves everyone with God's unconditional love. Certainly the Pharisees who continually conspired to embarrass and murder the Lord were His enemies. They were the gossipers and internet slanderers of Jesus' day. Dr. Morey is correct that Jesus called them snakes and children of the Devils, but that doesn't mean that Jesus hated them. The Lord hated their evil hearts. The Lord hated their unbelief. God hates all sin, more than we ever could. God is a holy God. Yet, God loves even the vilest sinner and the following Scripture proves it...
2nd Peter 2:1, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
Did you read that? The Lord died for their sins and BOUGHT those who denied Him. That's love my friend. Luke 6:35 teaches that God is kind unto those who are evil and unthankful.
Luke 6:35, “...for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”
That is love buddy! God loves even the vilest sinner. Christ died for ALL MEN. If Calvinism were true, which claims that God chooses who will be saved, then why does the Bible teach that God desires for ALL MEN TO BE SAVED...
1st Timothy 2:4, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
Since the invitation from God is to ALL MEN, then obviously no one has been CHOSEN to salvation as Calvinists falsely teach. John Calvin (1483-1546) was a total heretic and monster. It is a shame that millions of people are foolishly following this doctrinally corrupted man who lived 400 years ago. Calvin is in Hell today.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
All of our self-righteousness is counted as filthy rags in God's sight...
Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
God Hated Esau's Sin Of Unbelief, Not Esau's Person
When God says He hates someone, like in Romans 9:13, “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated,” it is the absence of phileo love, but not agape. God's unconditional love is based upon Who God is, and not upon who or what we are. Likewise, I love all men because of the love of God in my heart, and not because of who or what someone is or does. I phileo those who serve the Lord, but I agape all humanity.
Taking this passage without the proper context one may conclude that God hates some and love others, but if we read from the top of chapter 9 starting with verse 7 we see:
Romans 9:7-13 “Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
God hated Esau's carnality, but God didn't hate Esau as an individual. Morey says that God hated Esau. I love everyone, and that's one reason why I know that God loves everyone. I have God's love shed abroad in my heart. Dr. Morey sarcastically and facetiously expresses his own personal contempt for professed believers who live in sin and aren't faithful to church, claiming that they are not saved nor does God love them. God tells us to love our enemies, yet Morey says God hates His own enemies. Does that make any sense? Why would God hate and then tell us to love? If you study the difference between agape and phileo love then you'll understand.
The Almighty God was starting a nation by choosing a man and bred Israel out of him. God fulfilled His promise to Abraham when Isaac was born and the Lord said in Genesis 21:1-5...
Genesis 21:1-5, “And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.”
Genesis 17:19, “And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”
Genesis 17:21, “But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.”
Romans 9:13, “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
This passage refers to..
Malachi 1:1-3, “The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.”
This passage of Malachi was written much after the birth of Esau or Jacob and only after the actions of both men. Esau had despised his heritage. We can see what Esau did...
Hebrews 12:16-17, “Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”
Esau felt sorry but the damage was done, he had lost his birthright even though he had changed his mindset concerning his actions but no repentance concerning his lost right. After all this actions by Esau we then are able to see the Lord saying in Romans 9:13 which states: “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
This statement from the Lord occurred only a millennia-and-a-half after the birth of Esau and Jacob, and not before as the passage appears to imply. Therefore we conclude that the Lord hates Esau because of his actions which were sinful, and not because of the person of Esau. The Lord was longsuffering concerning Esau, because even though he was a worldly believer as a fornicator, Esau's days were many as we can see in Genesis 26:34-35, “And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.”
And so we can see a passage that applies to Esau in Hebrews 12:15 “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.”
Concerning Esau and God’s longsuffering abiding on him we have in Romans 9:15 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
If God had no longsuffering toward Esau, then he wouldn’t have lived so long; therefore the Lord Almighty had mercy on Esau, despite his actions deserving immediate destruction.
On Exodus 33 God says...
Exodus 33:19 “And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.”
We can see as an example Moses asking the Lord in Exodus 33:18, “And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.” And the answer to Moses was recorded in Exodus 33:19-20, “And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.” This was the Lord showing mercy towards Moses and granting his request, the same applies to Esau even though he deserved nothing. We can summarize Esau’s condition before the Lord as follows in Romans 9:22, “What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction.”
Esau was a vessel fitted to destruction because he was living a sinful life, but God used of longsuffering which is the mercy God bestowed upon Esau without merit, therefore a Grace of God which was given to Esau and this represents the Unconditional Love of God towards Esau and anyone else. This Unconditional Love (Agape) is far superior to the brotherly love (Phileo).
Psalms 7:11, ‘God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.’
Webster's 1828 Dictionary: Definition Of Wicked
WICKED, a. "The primary sense is to wind and turn, or to depart, to fall away."
1. Evil in principle or practice; deviating from the divine law; addicted to vice; sinful; immoral. This is a word of comprehensive signification, extending to every thing that is contrary to the moral law, and both to persons and actions. We say, a wicked man, a wicked deed, wicked ways, wicked lives, a wicked heart, wicked designs, wicked works.
No man was ever wicked without secret discontent.
2. A word of slight blame; as the wicked urchin.
3. Cursed; baneful; pernicious; as wicked words, words pernicious in their efforts.
This last signification may throw some light on the word witch.
The wicked, in Scripture, persons who live in sin; transgressors of the divine law; all who are unreconciled to God, unsanctified or impenitent.
Dr. Morey treats the Love of God as something that comes from something human beings have to offer. No one deserves anything from the Lord. Because God is Love he is able to love humans despite their state, because his love is unconditional.
Luke 6:35, ‘But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.’
Dr. Morey contradicts God when he says that God hates people, because Jesus (Who came as God in the flesh, 1 Timothy 3:16) taught us to ‘Love your enemies.’ Therefore how can God ask us to “Love your enemies” while he hates them?
1st John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
Luke 6:27, ‘But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,’
James 4:4, ‘Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.’
Matthew 5:46, ‘For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?’
1st John 2:15, ‘Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.’
Webster's 1828 Dictionary: Definition Of Hate
HATE, v.t. L. odi, for hodi.
1. To dislike greatly; to have a great aversion to. It expresses less than abhor, detest, and abominate, unless pronounced with a peculiar emphasis.
How long will fools hate knowledge? Prov.1.
Blessed are ye when men shall hate you. Luke 6.
The Roman tyrant was contented to be hated, if he was but feared.
2. In Scripture, it signifies to love less.
If any man come to me, and hate not father and mother, &c. Luke 14.
He that spareth the rod, hateth his son. Prov. 13.
HATE, n. Great dislike or aversion; hatred.
Dr. Morey considers the word hate as the same as angry. It's not hate or anger that motivates God to send someone to Hell forever, but Justice. Hell was created for the Devil and his angels, not humans. Sin must be paid; therefore those who reject the washing of sins provided by the Lamb of God must go and pay the price themselves.
Romans 11:22, “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.”
Dr. Morey Is An Unsaved Calvinist Who Uses Corrupt Bible Versions
Morey's doctrines are corrupt because the Bible versions that he uses are corrupt. Dr. Robert A. Morey has a website called “Faith Defenders” and a YouTube Channel named “Faith Defenders2008.”
Link to “Faith Defenders Website” : http://faithdefenders.com/index.html
Link to “Faith Defenders 2008 YouTube Channel”: http://www.youtube.com/user/FaithDefenders2008?feature=watch
According to one of his YouTube videos called “Calvinism Part 1,” he addresses the five points of Calvinism and contends for the doctrines of Calvinism making him; therefore, a Calvinist.
Link to the video “Calvinism Part 1”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mW3wKbNXYY
At his YouTube video named “Calvinism Part, 1 about 4 minutes and 22 seconds into the video we can see that he uses a New American Standard Bible (NASB) or New American Standard Version (NASV) version of the Bible in English (which relies on the corrupted manuscripts Vaticanus and Sinaiticus). Therefore if you have a Satanic Bible and not the Word of God (the King James Bible), then you don’t really have the Word of God. Jesus said...
Matthew 4:4, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” And in Luke 4:4 “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”
If I am to live by EVERY WORD of God, then I need an EVERY WORD Bible. In comparison to the reliable King James Bible, the New International Version (NIV) has removed or changed 65,000 words. Obviously both manuscripts cannot be God's inspired Words.
A Christian needs to hold the true Sword of the Lord! Otherwise he is only carrying a counterfeit that will turn on the person that holds it, and kill the user and possibly others around. On the other hand the Word of God that is perfect and inerrant by the power of God is powerful and according to Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” And 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
Those who handle a counterfeit scripture are deceiving others and begetting doctrines that bring damnation to those who read it. Therefore the Scripture says in:
2 Corinthians 4:2, “But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.”
2 Peter 3:16, “As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.”
I have a question for Dr. Robert A. Morey. Why a professed Christian as himself is using a Bible that is ordered by Satan to steal salvation from people, to destroy their lives and finally bring damnation to them that heed to its lies with the killing of the readers?
Before we can start doing anything regarding any concept of Scripture we need the Holy Ghost (which seals the believer, Ephesians 1:13). after believing the Gospel according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.
Final Comments
God loves his creation, but He hates sin. If most people don’t get saved, then why God does not kill them all for their sin and send them to Hell already? Why does The Lord keep this planet looking like a special jewelry among the stars? He could leave this planet desolate like the other planets in the solar system. He could finish sin in a moment and start again (like when he killed all flesh except those who were inside the ark with Noah and the others).
The point is that God is longsuffering concerning sinners and that love is unconditional. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God is patient and kind because He is Love! Luke 6:35 teaches that God is kind even to the unthankful and to the evil. That is unconditional love! God shows love to all creation at every moment while He maintains every atom and particle together, and keeps the universe stable so everything can exist (and that includes all things and everybody). God's grace is the result of His genuine love for all humanity.
Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”
Colossians 1:16-17, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
1st Corinthians 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
2nd Corinthians 5:19, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
If God does not love all humans from Adam to the last ever born, then why preach the Gospel to every creature? Why preach the Gospel to those whom the Lord is not willing to open the heart to hearken to the Word of God and get saved by Jesus Christ?
Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Dr. Robert A. Morey says many things that aren’t found in the Word of God and this article focused only on some of those wrong statements.
2nd Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
If God hates sinners, then He must hate everyone, because we are all sinners according to Romans 3:10, 23; James 2:10 and Romans 7:14-25. If we are commanded to hate sinners, is that demonstrative of the unconditional love of God that sent Christ to die for our sins. Romans 5:8 teaches that WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US. Romans 4:5 says that Christ died for THE UNGODLY.
1st John 2:11 teaches that a believer who hates His brother is still walking in darkness...
1st John 2:11, “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”
So I ask Dr. Robert, in view of 1 John 2:11, can the Lord be blind or in Darkness because He hates someone that sins like I hate a brother that sins? Let the Scripture answer: 1 John 1:5, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
God loves us because of who He is and not who we are or do. If Dr. Robert A. Morey can’t understand the Love of God for everyone is because:
1 Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Therefore Romans 8:9, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
To fix this problem, Dr. Robert A. Morey needs to repent (change his mind) and believe the Gospel without the deeds of the flesh. All Lordship Salvationists need to get saved. Lordship Salvationists are masters of forked-tongue, double-speak. They profess to believe in salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; but then somehow, someway, they require human effort as either part of being saved, or as a validation that a person is truly saved.
The Epistle of 1st John was not given as a requirement to complete our salvation; but rather, as a series of tests to help determine if a person is truly saved. There's a big difference. Morey teaches that you're not saved unless you have works in your life.
Romans 3:20, “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
