"Michael" the Movie Blasphemes the Bible

By David J. Stewart

In 1996 John Travolta stared in the movie, MICHAEL, who played the part of the archangel Michael.

Michael is an angel who has come to earth for the last time. He's living in an old motel in Iowa with Jean Stapleton who is about to lose her property to the bank. A letter to a tabloid brings in reporters anxious to see a real angel.

Michael works miracles as he travels with the reporters to Chicago. However, as he says, "He's an angel, not a Saint."

Sadly, the movie makes a mockery of the Word of God.  John Travolta appears as an archangel who drinks booze, smokes cigarettes, sings songs by the Beatles, and fornicates with several women throughout the movie.  This movie is not only disrespectful of God, but is a sinful mockery of God's Holy Law.

Fornication is a sinful work of the flesh (Galatians 5:19).  No one should ever joke or make light of the sins of fornication and adultery.  Romans 1:32 pronounces judgment upon those who take pleasure in the sin of others... "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."  Mr. Travolta blasphemes the Bible by diminishing Michael, a holy archangel, to the level of a vile sinner who shamelessly fornicates with every woman he desires.  In the movie, Michael has a special power that causes all women to desire sex with him, unless he places a "block" upon them.  The movie glorifies the sin of fornication.

Furthermore, The Beatles were Communists, who praised the U.S.S.R. in their music.  They glorified sexual immorality, and were known for wild partying and sex orgies backstage after their concerts.  John Lennon, in his book, A Spaniard in the Works, portrays Jesus Christ as, "Jesus El Pifico, a garlic-eating, stinking little yellow, greasy fascist bastard catholic Spaniard." (A Spaniard in the Works, p.14).  Yet, John Travolta sings The Beatles hit song, All You Need Is Love, in the movie.  The Beatles hated Jesus Christ, and any Bible-believer who dared condemn their worldly music as evil.  The "love" which The Beatles sang about is the synthetic, false, temporary, conditional, fondness which the world mistakes for true love.  George Harrison was a devout follower of the Hare Krishna Movement, which openly denies Jesus Christ as the only Savior.

The producers of the movie use the phrase... AN ANGEL EVERYONE CAN BELIEVE IN.  Yeah, a beer-drinking, tobacco-smoking, whoremongering, Rock 'N' Roll singing angel.  The producers of the movie, Michael, have turned the holy archangel Michael into a DEMON.  This is a serious matter to God.  God doesn't think it's clean humor, or innocent fun, when Christ-rejecters spit on the things of God, and joke about sin.  Michael, the movie, is of the Devil.
