This is a subject that has been completely ignored by virtually everyone concerning the evils of modern Contemporary Christian Music [CCM]. Today's contemporary music induces a sense of euphoria into the listener's mind. Psychology plays a big part in modern music.
Euphoria is an exhilarating psychological state of pride and optimism, often over-exaggerated.
This explains the worldly and selfish nature of CCM singers and their fans, who don't care if the world goes to Hell. Case in point, not one mainstream CCM singer preaches the Gospel on their website. Third Day sings the song Born Again as a cover-up for their apostasy; the song totally redefines the Biblical meaning of being “born-again,” misleading CCM fans into a false view of the gospel as being nothing more than a feeling, an experience.
The music industry is constantly using psychological manipulation to increase the success of new music releases. CCM is no different. Naturally, we all associate music with events (which are why today's music is all set to video), so many music marketers will use subtle representations and marketing placement to ensure that your first impression of that song triggers some kind of desired emotion.
It's called subliminal marketing. If you can
relate a song to a desired event then it helps to either promote the event
or add a representation to the song that triggers a set of emotions. This
makes you react to the song (perhaps even buy it!). Contemporary music is
intended to induce an exhilarating psychological state of pride and
optimism, creating a bigger-than-life euphoric feeling in the mind of the
listener, much like the Hollywood syndrome.
Hollywood—Bigger Than Life, or False Reality?
Many people who have visited Hollywood, California, or other popular celebrity locations in California, are familiar with the “feeling” (the emotional rush) of being there. There's a certain atmosphere that is created by not knowing when a famous celebrity may walk into a business. When I went for my first surgery in 2009, I stayed in Hollywood and visited the Hollywood walk of Fame (which is free to visit). These are the sidewalks along Hollywood Street. I saw the names of hundreds of famous celebrities printed on the sidewalks. The names are all placed, each in its own separate shape of a star.
I also visited the Chinese Grauman's Theatre, a very unique place historically, and saw all the hand-prints of famous celebrities, imprinted in concrete in front of the theatre. I saw the hand-prints of Roy Rogers, Harrison Ford, Al Pacino, Judy Garland, George Burns (and his cigar imprint), Stephen Spielberg (with his hands and heel prints in the cement), Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis (with “Yippee Ki Yay” written in concrete from one of his movies), Bing Crosby, Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell together (with the words, “Gentleman prefer blondes”), Gene Autry (and his gun imprint), even C3PO and R2D2 from Star Wars. I walked over to the next street, to Sunset Blvd. It was very interesting to be there. I had always wondered what it felt like to be in Hollywood, and now I know... It's a very empty feeling.
There was a bigger-than-life feeling I experienced while there; but I knew in my heart that most of the hand-prints I had seen, were put there by lost sinners now burning in Hell. I was saddened as I thought about the tragedies behind so many people's lives in Hollywood. Marilyn Monroe died of a drug overdose at only age 36. Judy Garland warmed a nation's heart during The Great Depression with the secular movie, The Wizard of Oz and her song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Yet, she died a drunkard's death in real life. I realized more than ever that Hollywood is all a FALSE REALITY!

Hal, from Ooberfüse, says : “I think this is the first time in history a reigning Pontiff has embraced the forms of popular culture to advance the Christian message of love and hope. We were overjoyed when members of the Bishops’ Organising Committee decided to dub our track the ‘Youth Anthem’ of the papal visit.”
The Pope has said “over the centuries and the millennia music has always been used to give form to what cannot be expressed in words because it arouses emotions otherwise difficult to communicate”.
It is hoped that the young will draw “new inspiration” from this record “in order to build a world founded on justice and solidarity”.

What a tragedy!!! Why is ChristianityToday promoting a German U.K. heathen pop band, Ooberfüse, who praises the Pope and his apostate message? It is so evil. The band produced a record, Heart's Cry, as a youth anthem to commemorate the Pope's visit to Europe.

In these Last Days, we see massive religious concerts, millions of apostate people praising a god, but they don't know who that god is. Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:22 that she and her people didn't know what they worshipped. And Jesus told her WHY... because God must be worshipped in TRUTH. God is not worshipped in heresy. Smith's concerts are packed with Catholics who worship Mary instead of Jesus.
Every Catholic will lie through their teeth in denial, claiming
that they don't worship Mary; but then they pray every Rosary, chanting
“Hail Mary” 53 times without mentioning the name of Jesus even once.

CCM is the same FALSE REALITY
Contemporary Christian Music [CCM] produces the same type of bigger-than-life feeling, but is a false reality. The singers use the word “holy” probably more than any other word, but there's nothing holy about secular music. When you look behind the scenes, CCM singers are just people making a living, helping to promote the New World's one-world religion. Whether the Hollywood syndrome or the euphoria felt while attending a Third Day concert, it's all a false reality. CCM singers are no different than Hollywood celebrities.
CCM is artificial Christianity. After all the euphoria wears off, there is someone forgotten about in a nursing home. After all the euphoria wears off, there is someone dying in a hospital bed. After all the euphoria of CCM wears off, there is a child born deformed. After all the euphoria wears off, there is a lonely person in prison. After all the euphoria wears off, there is a surgery that didn't help; but made you worse. After all the euphoria of CCM wears off, there is a sudden death of a loved one. After all the euphoria of CCM wears off, there is a spouse who unexpectedly files for divorce and shatters your world to pieces. After all the euphoria of CCM wears off, there is reality!
When one listens to the euphoric music of
MercyMe, Michael. W. Smith, TobyMac, Flatfoot 56, Andrew Peterson,
Charmaine, Kerrie Roberts, Newsboys, Tree63, Sanctus, Skillet, Revive,
Jennifer Knapp, Point of Grace, and all the apostate so-called Christian
groups today, it is clear to see why our churches are packed full with
people “without natural affection.” Everything about the religious scene
today is phony bologna! God-fearing people are actually leaving church to
grow closer to the Lord; because all the fighting, bickering, jealousy,
immodestly dressed women, hatred, nosy people who destroy other people's
marriages, weak sermons, and apostasy has ruined churches. The most easily
offended people you'll meet are often religious people. Religion messes
people up, turning them into self-righteous hypocrites. Genuine Biblical
Christianity causes a person to genuinely care. CCM makes people selfish,
phony and deprives them of legitimate Biblical mentoring. CCM is a diet of
spiritual starvation.
Conclusion
There is an addiction and euphoria that people get from music. We all experience a variety of different emotions naturally, but music allows us to experience emotions artificially by associating certain sounds or specific songs to events or representations that trigger emotions within us. As humans, we instinctively react to certain sounds in certain ways, but as we experience new emotion provoking scenarios, we begin to associate certain sounds with emotions (so that when we hear that sound again we are reminded of how we felt the first time we heard it, and that’s the bit that people love).
For these reasons, CCM is cause for concern. Church congregations are being led into apostasy, holding worship services instead of preaching services. The Bible says in Titus 1:3 that God chose preaching to teach His Word, not music. None of the Apostles had singing careers. The entire notion of producing and selling music is unscriptural. Everything God gives us in life is free. Yet, how sad that so many people want to get paid for every tiny thing they do. That is apostasy! Genuine Biblical Christianity causes a person to become generous, caring and to have a tender heart (Ephesians 4:32).
Again, euphoria is an exhilarating psychological state of pride and optimism, often over-exaggerated. This perfectly describes CCM as well as contemporary secular music. It's all worldly. While CCM fans are getting an emotional “high” from their favorite apostate music, the world is going to Hell. Romans 10:15 doesn't say, “How beautiful are the voices” of them that can sing. No, rather, it says “How beautiful are the feet” of the soul-winner who brings the Gospel to lost sinners. Only the Gospel can bring peace between God and man. Romans 5:1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
