How Incompetent Is Your Pastor?
by David J. Stewart | July 2024
Jeremiah 23:1-2, “Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.”
There's a high probability that your pastor is incompetent and shouldn't be leading any church. Here are some definite signs that your pastor is incompetent:
An Incompetent Pastor Uses and Promotes The Devil's Corrupt Modern Bible Versions - Only the King James Bible in the English language is inspired. ALL of the modern Bible revisions have been corrupted by Satan and his minions. I cannot warn you enough to thro away your NIV (New International Version), ESV (English Standard Version, GNB, RSV, NKJB, TNIV, VOICE, MSG, CEV, ASV, TEV, et cetera. A legitimate pastor who walks with God cares about THE TRUTH; and therefore, he despises Satan's perverted Bible revisions. Remember, the King James is not a “version,” it is the inspired Holy Bible!
An Incompetent Pastor Preaches Satan's Lie of Lordship Salvation and/or Wrong Repentance - The inspired Holy Bible teaches a free grace Gospel. That is, our only part in getting saved is to cease from our own works (human effort), and REST completely in the finished work of Jesus Christ. We are saved by God's grace alone without works (Romans 4:1-7). If your pastor preaches and teaches that you must “turn from your sins” to get to Heaven, he is incompetent theologically and can't be trusted to lead a congregation.
Nothing in the inspired King James Bile says to “repent of your sins” or to “turn from your sinful bad habits” to receive God's FREE GIFT of eternal life. If eternal life is truly a gift, then there can be no obligations or stipulation to receive, maintain or finalize it. Once you receive God's gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sins, which is by childlike faith in the Good News of Jesus crucified, buried and risen the third day, you are forever God's child.
Galatians 1:6-8, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” What a powerful passage of Scripture! The Apostle Paul warns everyone about “another gospel,” which he emphasizes is NOT another gospel, because there is and can only be ONE GOSPEL. That Gospel (meaning “Good News”) is taught in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, defined as three things:
Jesus DIED on a cross (as a Sacrificial Lamb to pay our debt of sin)
Jesus was BURIED (to confirm that He was indeed deceased)
Jesus physically RESURRECTED from the dead three days later (to intercede as our heavenly High Priest)
Here is 1st Corinthians so you can read it for yourself, because I don't want you to miss this truth...
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
How is it then that nearly all preachers (damnable false prophets) today embellish, add and subtract from this Gospel, saying such unbiblical things as, “To get to Heaven you must”:
Turn from your sins.
Forsake a sinful lifestyle.
Commit your life to live for Christ.
Ask Jesus into your heart.
Invite Christ into your life.
Turn away from a past life of sin.
Forsake the old ways.
Forsake the world.
Become a Christ follower.
Surrender to Jesus as “Lord” of your life.
Trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Live a changed life.
Change your behavior.
Desire not to sin anymore.
Live a lifestyle of repentance.
Trade all that you are for all that Jesus is.
Exchange your will for Christ's will.
Give up your own will.
Pray the Jesus' prayer.
Pray a sinner's prayer.
Those are all unbiblical junk statements being taught in cults today. These are but the tip of the iceberg compared to the junk that is being taught in millions of churches (which are really deadly religious cults) worldwide. I am astonished at the trash I hear being preached on religious radio, internet, television, books and from church pulpits by INCOMPETENT preachers! Thankfully, although there are many topics in the Bible that are unclear and ambiguous, the definition of THE GOSPEL is not one of them. The inspired Word of God is abundantly plain and concise concerning what God expects of us to get to Heaven. God the Father simply asks that you BELIEVE Jesus, His only begotten Son, did it all for you through Calvary's cross.
It has been said that there are are two types of religions in the world: DO and DONE. That is, you either believe that you must DO something to get to Heaven (e.g., turn from your sins, follow Christ as Lord, get water baptized, live a changed life, et cetera); or, you believe that Jesus has already DONE it all for you by shedding His precious blood, and your faith in Christ alone is enough to satisfy God's righteous demands. Remember dear friend, we are saved solely by HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, not ours. This is what Jesus means in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” The Bible speaks further of God's imputed righteousness in Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” We are saved by GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is obtained through faith alone in Jesus alone. Faith is simply putting your childlike confidence (reliance, trust, hope) in what Christ has already done for you by dying on the cross.
Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay. Calvary settles it all! My fait
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.I like these helpful quotes from my ministry friend, Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold...
“Lordship Salvation is the unsupportable and unbiblical belief that the performance of good works, the promise of good works, or the evidence of good works, must accompany faith in Christ to establish or provide evidence that such faith has resulted in eternal life.” —Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold (Jesus versus John MacArthur)
“Pastors should not have a different Gospel. It should be the same Gospel. Now, we may present it different ways, but the Gospel should still be the Gospel. And preachers and evangelists and whoever—the message still has to be the same, if it is the Gospel. And if it is by grace, then it has to be FREE, and it must be FOREVER. If it's not free, it's not the Gospel; and if it's not forever, it's not the Gospel, because that's what makes it such a good thing. In other words, we are supposed to speak with words that are easy to be understood.” —Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, “Is God Confused?”
Bible repentance simply means “a change of mind.” There is much debate over what that change of mind involves, and that is where the problem begins. Most incompetent preachers assume that you must change your mind about your sinful ways, so that you no longer desire to live a lifestyle of sinning. However, this is manmade reformation, and not the fruit of the Holy Spirit that the indwelling Holy Spirit produce in a believer who WALKS IN THE SPIRIT. Walking in the Spirit is a choice (Galatians 5:25), just like trusting Jesus as your personal Savior was a choice. These are two separate choices which have nothing to do with one another. To mix, combine or confuse these separate decisions is the heresy of Lordship Salvation.
John Bunyan (1628-1688) well understood the importance of keeping these two things separate:
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” [emphasis added] —Evangelist John Bunyan
If you ever hear a pastor tell you to turn away from your sinful bad habits to be saved, RUN from that place!
An Incompetent Pastor Shuns Unwanted People and Lacks Unconditional Love For Sinners - a preacher who truly walks with God will love everyone, not just his buddies and friends. I speak this to the utter shame of Pastor Jeff Redlin at Pensacola Christian College's Campus Church. That wicked man gets paid a disgusting 6-digit salary, but woefully lack God's love for people. As of August 2, 2022 I have been banned in writing from attending PCC's Campus Church, simply because Jeff Redlin is prejudiced and a religious bigot who sinfully holds grudges. Sadly, PCC leadership is so grossly incompetent that they pander to fools like Redlin, unwilling to do what is right, because all they love is money.
Our churches are in big trouble today because of incompetent pastors, who have been poorly trained in cesspool's of iniquity like Pensacola Christian College (PCC) and Bob Jones University (BJU). RUN from these so-called "fundamentalist" institutions, which are really bigoted dangerous religious cults! I am convinced that all Bible colleges do today is neuter the pastors of tomorrow.
I agree with the Wizard of Oz, who said to the Tin Man: You klinking, klanking, collatering, collection of caliginous junk! I think that is what the Wizard would have to say of injurious fools like Jeff Redlin, and clowns like Marty Herron (the former apostate who ran the Harvest Baptist Church of Guam into the ground for 19 years). These ungodly men are incompetent pastors, far from being genuine men of God who care about truth or people. RIGHT DOCTRINE MATTERS!!!
