Eating Mud Cookies To Survive

Haiti Eating Dirt       Can you imagine be so poor and so hungry that you have no choice but to eat MUD?  Hungry people in the slums of Haiti are giving new meaning to the phrase "dirt poor."  As food prices soar, many desperate people are eating mud cookies to stave off their hunger pangs.  The Haitian woman in the photo to the right is preparing mud cookies by mixing vegetable oil and salt with mud.  Can you imagine?

Tragically, the state of Florida is located just a little over 600 miles away from this destitute part of the world.  We are so spoiled rotten in America.  I saw a commercial on TV today advertising "cat litter" made from corn and wheat.  While America's pets poop in litter made from food, poor children just hours away are forced to eat mud because they have NO FOOD.  Do we really trust in God in America, when we allow the poor to starve to death, while simultaneously using perfectly good food to make cat sand?  Sad!

Americans are spoiled!  We enjoy a delicious hot meal 3 times daily, while the world's poor resort to eating mud mixed with salt and vegetable oil to survive.  Tragically, many of the world's poor don't even have mud cookies and just starve to death.  It's sickening!  Bill and Melinda Gates, and Warren Buffett, have all been honored as great humanitarians for donating several tens-of-billions of dollars to help the world's poor.  What a scam!  The money will all be squandered, just like the rest of the UNFPA money has been.  The poor continue to starve.  Who's kidding who?

Pictured below is an 11-year-old boy named Cajeunes, showing his dirt-streaked tongue after eating a mud cookie in Cite Soleil.

I was watching the Food Network the other day.  The chef was using the spice Saffron, which costs about $70 per ounce!!!  The poor in Haiti cannot even afford to buy 2 cups of rice for just 60 cents, while spoiled rotten Americans spice their foods with Saffron, and gourmet themselves at Olive Garden and Ponderosa Steakhouse.

Think about this the next time you start complaining about something.

No wonder God doesn't hear America's prayers anymore!

The average church in America is more concerned about keeping the carpet fresh, washing the dust off the stained-glass windows, and tuning the keys in the piano.  It would be a wonderful thing if every churchgoer in America would just STOP tithing, and give all that money directed to the poor instead.  I'm sure the poor people eating mud cookies would agree wholeheartedly.

America's Churches are Asleep

Consider all the trillions-of-dollars donated to religious organizations over the decades.  What has it all accomplished?  The poor are starving today more than ever.  America lies in moral ruins.  America's youth are more ignorant, immoral and hellbent on destruction today than ever before.  Homosexuality and abortion are commonplace, without a negative word ever being heard publicly from 99% of America's churches (including Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches).  Why have America's churches become soft?  This is apostasy!

It's time for Christians in America to wake up!  The church was never intended to be an end in itself as a social club or learning institution... "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid" (Matthew 5:13,14).  Jesus likened Christians to the salt of the earth.  Salt makes people thirsty.  But notice what the Word of God says about salt that is no longer salty... it is GOOD FOR NOTHING!  The average believer today is good for nothing.  The average church today is good for nothing.  What are you going to do about it?

A 2001 Real Estate Guide (http://north-valley.com/realestate_board/messages/157.html) valued Joel Osteen's home at $1,265,500.  Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.

America's churches are stuck in a rut of apostasy.  The world's poor are starving to death, and something needs to be done about it.  Every church can do something, and should.  The poor of this world are dear to the heart of God.  If you were starving to death, wouldn't you want someone to help you?  I'm not talking about welfare handouts, I'm talking about helping the poor who are destitute.

Call me what you will, but I hope you feel guilty the next time you stuff your face if you don't care about the world's poor.  It's sad that we don't seem to care about issues until it adversely affects us.  The hallmark quality of a Christian is CARING.  Unfortunately, most people (including professed "Christians") don't care nowadays.  Thus, the poor of Haiti continue to literally eat mud, while we Americans make cat litter out of perfectly good food, so our pets can use the bathroom in it.  Truth is certainly stranger than fiction.

"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." —Proverb 19:17
