According to the Bible, Robert
B. Thieme Jr. is a heretic! I have in front of me a booklet written by R.
B. Thieme entitled ,"THE BLOOD OF CHRIST" (ISBN 1-55764-036-X).
I will quote to you from his book in his own words and you can decide for
yourself if he's a heretic.

7 of his book--[When the Scripture states that "the life of the flesh
is in the blood" (Lev. 17:10-14), it refers to animal flesh
only.] Mr. Thieme evidently
didn't want to read the rest of Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls:
for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
I simply cannot believe that a so-called "scholar" on the Bible
has found a bunch of things that God hasn't even found. The Bible says
in black and white that it is the "BLOOD" that atones for the
soul. It's still the blood Mr. Thieme!

15--[We must understand that the animal's death was not a picture of
Christ's physical death] Oh?
Then why did the lamb have to be a young male lamb, without spot nor
blemish? (Exodus 12:5-8). The reason is simply because the LAMB
pictured the LAMB OF GOD, JESUS CHRIST. "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of
the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation
13:8). "And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of
God!" (John 1:36). The death of the animal lamb most
definitely pictured the physical death of Jesus Christ.

15--[Jesus Christ remained physically alive after His salvation work was
finished] This is a lie!
Jesus' work of atonement was NOT finished upon the cross. Jesus hadn't
died, been buried or risen from the grave yet when He said, "It is
finished." Jesus was simply referring to all the prophecies
concerning Himself. Jesus was simply saying that all of the Old
Testament prophecies concerning Him had been fulfilled at that
time.

18--[The red liquid that ran through the veins and arteries of Jesus' mortal
body is not related to our salvation, and there is no biblical basis for
attributing any unusual properties to Christ's bodily fluids. The term
"blood of Christ" is far more significant than any magical or
mysterious power falsely ascribed to His physical blood by those who are
ignorant of doctrine. John's record indicates that His literal blood
was not a factor in either His spiritual or His physical death.] Mr.
Thieme uses John 19:30 to justify his position here. "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said,
It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."
Again, Jesus had not died, been buried or rose from the grave when He made
this statement. Whatever was finished, it surely was not
salvation. If Mr. Thieme were not too big for his own britches, he
would have also read John 19:28&29, "After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished,
that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a
sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth."
It is obvious that Jesus was very concerned about the Scriptures being
fulfilled. Jesus said, "I thirst," because He knew it had
been prophesied in the Old Testament (Psalm 22:15). Jesus' made sure
that everything went as foretold in the Old Testament. God's Word is
true and all prophesies had to be fulfilled. In John 19:29, Jesus
accepted something to quench his dry mouth. It was upon fulfilling
this prophesy that Jesus said, "It is finished." What was
finished? All the prophesies concerning Christ up until that
moment. This is what Jesus meant, nothing more. Mr. Thieme is
basing a heretical doctrine upon his ignorance of God's Word. How can
someone so smart be so dumb?

23--[His literal blood has no spiritual significance] What
does the Bible teach? 1 Peter 1:18&19, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"
R. B. Thieme, Jr. is of the devil.

27--[When Hebrews 9:22 states that" without shedding of blood there is
no forgiveness," animal blood is in view] What
does the Bible say? Hebrews 9:12, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

31--[As the celebrity of the universe, He ascended and was seated, but He
did not take any blood with Him to heaven.] John
20:17 says, "Jesus saith unto her,
Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."
Why was it so important that Mary not touch Jesus? The reason is
because He had to apply His shed blood to the mercy-seat in heaven.
Hebrews 9:12 makes this clear.

31--[We have seen in great detail that His mortal, human body fluids have
absolutely nothing whatever to do with salvation.] I
would not want to be in this man's shoes for all the money in the world; He
is bound straight for hell. We read in Acts 20:28, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God,
which he hath purchased with his own blood." Did you hear
that? God has purchased the church with His own blood! God's
blood flowed through Christ's veins. God the Son had the blood of God
the Father in His veins. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit walked this earth incarnate in the body of our Lord Jesus
Christ. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
(Colossians 2:8).

34--[Our Lord died twice on the cross.] There
is nothing in the Bible to support this nonsense. Jesus died once and
then released His spirit unto the Father (Luke 23:46). He went to
heaven as soon as He died (Luke 23:43). 2 Corinthians 12:4 also
indicates that "paradise" is heaven.

38--[When believers do not see the true connection between the "blood
of Christ" and the animal sacrifices, these same believers are liable
to reach erroneous conclusions about the blood of Christ...One extreme
example comes from Roman Catholicism, which teaches that the bread
transforms into Christ's actual flesh and that the wine becomes the literal
blood...but it is no more bizarre than the false idea that the "blood
of Christ" is somehow a literal phrase.] The
only thing bizarre about all this is Thieme's off-base book. The Bible
proclaims the importance of the blood of Jesus from cover to cover.
Even at the beginning of the Bible, we find that Able offered God a
"blood sacrifice." Cain made the same mistake that R. B.
Thieme, Jr. is making--Making light of the blood. Just as God rejected
Cain's grain offering, so will God reject Mr. Thieme's misguided
faith. Mr. Thieme has found "another Jesus" that the Bible
does not portray. The Jehovah Witnesses teach that Michael the
archangel became Jesus upon the earth. They deny that Jesus is
Almighty God. In the same deceitful manner, Thieme and John MacArthur
have diminished the Person of Christ by diminishing the blood that He
shed. By the way, John MacArthur teaches the same garbage that I have
just shared with you. The Bible over and over proclaims the importance
and absolute necessity of Jesus blood.
"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and
washed us from our sins in his own blood," (Revelation 1:7)
"And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white
in the blood of the Lamb" (Revelation 7:14).
"And they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the
death" (Revelation 12:11).
It
appears that R. B. Thieme Jr. has never read the book of Revelation.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1
John 1:7).
Evidently
he didn't read 1 John either.
"In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
(Ephesians 1:7).
"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ" (Ephesians 2:13).
Are
Thieme and MacArthur nuts? One thing is for sure, they are enemies of the
Lord. They have taken away from the Word of the Lord; therefore, God will
take away their part from the Book of life.
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book" (Revelation 22:19).
There
is no excuse for what Thieme and MacArthur have done to God's Word.
