The Gospel Is Delicate And So Easily Corrupted

By David J. Stewart | December 2009 | Updated May 2020

Romans 3:4, “Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar...”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most delicate thing in the universe, because it is so profoundly simple. We are sinners and are saved by obtaining Christ's righteousness by faith (Romans 4:5). It's that simple. The Gospel is that Jesus Christ DIED, was BURIED and RESURRECTED (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

If you receive the Gospel as payment for your sins, then you are saved. But don't I have to repent? Yes, of course! Biblical repentance is “a change of mind” that causes a person to believe the Gospel. Repentance is NOT a desire to stop sinning. Repentance is realizing that you have SINNED in the eyes of a HOLY GOD, and thus you need the Savior, and so you believe the Gospel and are saved.

The Gospel is so simple that it is dangerously easy to corrupt it by the slightest change, removing or addition anything to it (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). Galatians 1:6-7, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” When anything is added or subtracted, or the true nature of Jesus Christ as the virgin born Son of God is distorted, the truth of the Gospel has been perverted, which cannot produce regeneration. In Acts 15:1 a group of men perverted the Gospel, by adding circumcision to faith. This was the same error that adversely infected the church at Galatia (Galatians 3:1-3). In Matthew 7:21-23, we learn that a religious group (who were wholly dedicated to serving Jesus Christ), had never been born-again. They were attempting to please God by their own human effort, instead of relying completely upon the imputed righteousness of God, which is by faith alone. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

A minister who invites people to “walk down to the altar” to be saved is adding to the Gospel. Since when does a person have to walk an isle down to an altar to be saved? Why can't they be saved right there in their pew by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ?

Teaching others to “ask” Jesus to save them is adding to the Gospel. Jesus already told us what to do to be saved, so there is no need to ask Him. John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” If you simply believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins, and raised up from the dead three days later, and you receive that as full payment for your sins, you are saved immediately, irrevocably and eternally. Praise God! Grace is not earned, it is offered.

Telling people to “just trust Jesus to be saved” without telling them that they are a sinner is subtracting from the Gospel. Christ died on the cross for OUR SINS. No one ever got saved who didn't know that he is a sinner! Romans 4:5 says that Jesus saves “THE UNGODLY.” Jesus saves sinners! Amen!

A person who teaches that a sinner must “be sorry for their sins” to be saved is corrupting the Gospel message by adding human effort to it. Sorrow for sins is “penitence,” not repentance. Sorrow is an emotion. A person need only acknowledge their need as a condemned sinner before a holy God to be saved. A person may or may not feel sorrow over the sins in their life, yet they may still acknowledge they are a guilty sinner in need of the Savior. God's law shows men their guilt of sin (Romans 3:19), and points them as a needy sinner to the Savior (Galatians 3:24-26). Nor does God require that a person attempt to make reconciliation or restitution for past sins, which would be “penance,” not Bible repentance. Repentance is not turning away from one's sinful bad habits, which would be “reformation.” Repentance is simply a change of mind which compels a man to believe 'The Gospel' (i.e., 'Good News') to be saved.

Some people errantly tell sinners to “invite Jesus into their heart,” but the Bible doesn't teach that. In Acts 8 we find an Ethiopian eunuch desiring to be water baptized, as a new believer. Acts 8:37, “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” And so Philip water baptized the eunuch as a public profession of his faith in the Lord. Salvation is believing from one's heart upon Jesus as the Son of God, the Christ (John 20:31). We are saved by faith alone. Repentance is included in one's faith, being automatic. That is why we find the word “BELIEVE” mentioned 85 times in the Gospel of John, but the word “REPENT” is not mentioned even one time. We repent TO believe, we don't repent AND believe (as false teachers claim). Anyone who says that you must “be willing to turn away from your sins” is preaching another gospel. Eternal life is the free gift of God, without works (Romans 4:6).

We are saved when we believe, not when we invite Jesus into our heart. Biblically, the “heart” refers to our sub-consciousness, not to our physical heart muscle which pumps blood 100,000 times each day. Christ's Spirit comes into the believer's body the very moment that we are saved (Romans 8:9), but you don't have to invite Jesus to be saved. A lot of Southern Baptists have been misled to believe they are saved because they “asked Jesus into their life or heart.” Well, Judas was one of Christ's very Apostles, and yet Judas went to Hell in unbelief. Jesus proclaimed, “Ye must be born-again” (John 3:5). There can be no salvation without the cross upon which Christ died for our sins, without Christ's burial (officiating His death), and without Christ's resurrection (signifying God's acceptance of Christ's body and blood sacrifice for man's sins).

Jack Chick corrupts the Gospel message in his cartoon booklets, by requiring sinners in step #2 to “be willing to turn from sin” to be saved. This is in addition to step #1 which requires a person to “admit you are a sinner.” Step #1 is Biblical; step #2 is damnable heresy. The Gospel is so easily corrupted into a lie. The Gospel is even more delicate than eggshells. Nothing is so profoundly simple, and yet so easily corrupted, than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A person need only repent of their sinful condition by believing upon the Lord Jesus for forgiveness (Acts 10:43).

Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” The Bible doesn't say, repent ye, and stop living in sin. It says, repent ye, and believe the Gospel. A changed life is the FRUIT of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25), and not a part of the ROOT of saving-faith (Romans 4:5-6). To tell someone that they must be willing to give up their sinful lifestyle is to teach self-righteousness, which is damnable heresy and a false gospel. Ray Comfort, Jack Chick, Paul Washer and John MacArthur pervert the Gospel by teaching that a person must forsake their sinful lifestyle to be saved. They are corrupting the Biblical meaning of repentance and perverting the Gospel. It's not just a matter of semantics as some deceitfully claim. If you add human effort to Christ's payment on the cross, then you cannot be born-again because you are trying to play a part in God's salvation. God does the saving, all of it! Religion is man trying to reach God through human effort, but Christianity is God trying to reach man by the sacrifice of His Son Who died on the cross for our sins.

There are literally thousands of perversions of the Gospel in the world today, and Satan is behind every one of them, trying to blind people from the truth of the Gospel (2nd Corinthians 4:4). The Catholic Church is notorious for corrupting the meaning of the Scriptures. Catholics trust in a false gospel. Official Catholic dogma teaches that a person must be water baptized into the Catholic Church, and keep the Seven Sacraments of the Church, to enter into Heaven. Catholicism is a prisonhouse of religion. From the cradle-to-the-casket, Catholicism has a religious package for you; but Jesus said “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5).

Religion Wants to Fit Us with Glasses;
the Lord Wants to Open Our Eyes

You Need Christianity, Not churchianity

I once had a staunch Catholic neighbor, who did all sorts of things for his parish, and was a good man as far as sinners go; but he didn't believe in a literal Hell with literal fire. I asked him where people go who aren't born-again when they die? He answered, “They're stuck in limbo.” That's a lie of Satan. I showed him from the Bible (and it's also in the Catholic Douay version of the Bible) 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, which warns that God will punish with vengeance all Christ-rejecters with flaming fire in Hell forever. The question is—Do you believe that the Bible is God's Word? I hope for your sake that you do.

Despite having explained the Gospel repeatedly to him, my neighbor still maintains the false notion that he will be saved by keeping the Ten Commandments to the best of his ability. This is what Catholics are taught—self-righteousness. Sadly, he will go to Hell forever unless he repents and believes the Gospel. You just can't get though to some people. This is why we must pray for God to work in their heart and life, to do the things for them that we cannot do, in hopes that perhaps one glorious day they will come to Christ to be saved.

Every false religious cult corrupts the simplicity of the Gospel. Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-Day Adventists all require self-righteous works to gain Heaven. They've added HUMAN EFFORT to God's GRACE ALONE. No one ever got saved that way. Human effort is religion, period. We are not saved by partial faith in Christ, plus purposing in our heart not to live in sin like we used to do. This is the heresy of Lordship Salvation and it is epidemic in our churches today. The idea is that a person absolutely must recognize Christ's Lordship and submit to that Lordship in order to be saved, which means a full surrender by that individual to be saved, and that means a commitment to live for Jesus the rest of your life. My friend, I would NEVER have been saved if someone threw all that crap into my face to be saved.

God hates Lordship Salvation, because it turns away sinners from coming to the Lord to be saved on the basis that they are too sinful and NOT READY yet until they're willing to get clean, straighten up their ways, and walk that narrow path of self-righteousness. What a bunch of rotting reverends. Just as the heresy of a Young Earth Creation began with the demonic Seventh-Day Adventist cult in 1844, so also did Lordship Salvation heresy begin with the Roman Catholic prisonhouse of religion. Here is an unbiblical definition of “repentance” from a Catholic website...

“To repent is to die to Christ, discarding our former way of life in favor of the Way, Truth, and Life that is Christ himself.”

If you follow the hyperlink for the preceding quote, you will see that the author began his explanation of repentance correctly, by defining the Greek METANOIA as “a change of mind” (such as in Mark 1:15... Repent, and believe the Gospel), but then the author digresses in typical cultic fashion, morphing a change of mind into something completely different than what he started out with. In essence, the author is wrestling the holy Scriptures in order to fit them with the satanic, corrupted and manmade Catholic doctrines of devils. That's like trying to force a size 7 shoe onto a man with foot size of “12 extra-wide.”

The religious cults all require water baptism, which is unscriptural. No one in the Old Testament ever got baptized in water. There is only one Gospel. Abram (Abraham) was saved in Genesis 15:6 by believing on the Lord, the same way we are saved today, 4,000 years later. There has always been only one plan of salvation, and it is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). A person need only repent of their sinful condition by believing upon the Lord Jesus for forgiveness (Acts 10:43). Salvation is receiving, not giving (John 1:12). Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15), freely offered (Romans 10:13) and freely received (Revelation 22:17).

You don't repent to get saved. We are saved by believing, not by repenting; BUT you wouldn't believe if you hadn't repented. There has never been anyone who believed who didn't also repent. They happen together at the SAME time. Repentance is “a change of mind” that brings you to Jesus to be saved. Repentance is a change of mind about whatever it was before that was hindering you from coming to Christ to be saved. John 3:20 says that it's always some form of sin that prevents sinners from coming to the light (Jesus, John 8:12) to be saved.

Christian author Michael Patrick Bowen correctly defines “repentance” in his excellent book titled: I NEVER KNEW YOU,” on page 114...

“Repent, as Christ meant it to be in terms of salvation, means to change your mind from trusting in what you can do for God to trusting only in what He can do for you.”

SOURCE: Michael Patrick Bowen, a quote from the awesome book, “I NEVER NEW YOU” (Page 114)

The beloved Pastor Bob Gray Sr., of the former Longview Baptist Temple church in Texas, correctly preaches . . .

“Repentance means to change your mind—change your mind—change your mind about how you want to get to Heaven to what God says you've got to do to get to Heaven. If you've got to repent of all your sins, you're still headed for Hell tonight.”

SOURCE: Pastor Bob Gray Sr., a quote from the awesome MP3 sermon, Why You Should Be A Part Of A Growing Church

Hebrews 6:1 talks about repentance from “DEAD WORKS.” So if it is your self-righteous religion that is keeping you from getting saved, then repent (CHANGE YOUR MIND) and believe on Christ. Admit that your religion and rituals, and prayers and sacraments CANNOT get you to Heaven. If you've had this change of mind, and you've turned by faith to the Lord instead for forgiveness, believing that Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried and raised-up from the dead after three days, then you are forever saved! John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”

Don't Add To The Gospel

The Gospel is so delicate that I am hesitant to attempt to explain it, lest someone should get a wrong impression. In fact, this is the entire prayerful reason WHY I have written this important article, that is, so you WON'T get any false impressions of the Gospel. Being saved is as simple as going through a door, and Jesus is that precious Door in John 10:9.

So we see then that to get to Heaven a person DOESN'T NEED TO:

Illuminati author Mark Dice claims to be a Christian but stated in this video exposing rapper Jay-Z that Jesus told us to love God and love our neighbour to have eternal life. Jesus was not giving a plan of salvation when He taught those two principles, which are really just one... TO LOVE!

You cannot get to Heaven by trying to live like Jesus. That's what liberals do. They define Christianity as living like Jesus and applying his teachings to your life to get to Heaven. It bothers me greatly that Mark failed to mentioned Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. Nor did he mention Christ being raised up from the dead. Mark needs to read 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 which defines the Gospel as Christ's death on the cross for our sins, His burial, and His resurrection from the dead three days later. You MUST believe this, trusting upon these truths to be saved. If you go through life loving God and loving people, you'll go straight to Hell if you've never been born-again by receiving Christ's payment for YOUR SINS upon the cross, and believing that Christ is risen from the dead. No one ever got saved who didn't know that he or she is a sinner. Jesus saves “the ungodly” (Romans 4:5-6). Amen!

I wrote a little Johnny-on-the-spot poem today, which took me about 20-minutes total to pen (I hope you like it)...

Come as you are O sinner,
Jesus will save you just as you are;
Don't be afraid that He won't receive you,
For you mean much more to Him than all the stars;
For He has promised in John 6:37 to save without a doubt, saying...
“For he that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out!”

Perhaps the most beloved passage of Scripture in all the Bible, with whom every pastor and preacher would want to be associated as a life's verse is John 3:16. I know I sure do. John 3:16 is the HEART OF THE HOLY BIBLE. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Here we have the simple plan of salvation. The whole reason why God gave His only begotten Son is because we are woeful sinners, by birth and by choice. Thank God for the gift of His precious Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus paid a debt of sin that He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin that we could not pay. Jesus paid our sin debt!!! Unless you receive Christ's payment for your sins upon the cross, you will spend eternity burning in the fires of Hell.

CCM's False Gospel

There's also a group of people today who corrupt the Gospel by reducing salvation to “praying the Jesus prayer” as I've heard some Contemporary Christian Music [CCM] singers state. There can be no salvation without the Law of God that reveals men as sinners. Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” To be saved, a person must acknowledge their guilt of sin for breaking God's commandments. Turning over a new leaf is not salvation. Making a commitment to live a better life is not salvation. Deciding to join a church and become religious is not salvation.

Certainly, there is nothing wrong with a sinner's prayer, for we find the thief on the cross crying out to Jesus to be saved in Luke 23:42. However, a person may be saved without ever opening their mouth. What if a person were mute? Salvation is of the heart, by simply believing on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. Romans 10:10 tells us that it is with the heart man believeth unto righteousness. In Matthew 7:21-23 we find a group of religious phonies, who called Jesus “Lord, Lord” as the Lordship Salvationists do. They were unsaved; but yet religious.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Hear MIDI Melody

The majority of CCM artists today propagate a wishy-washy false gospel that teaches that a person need only open their heart for God to fill the emptiness. Michael Smith is one such heretic. Christian Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, House, Pop, et cetera, are all of the Devil, because they love the praise of men more than God (John 12:43), and love money more than the hellbound souls of men (Matthew 6:24). The CCM artists get rich, and their evil producers; but no one gets saved because the true Gospel is drowned in obscure, meaningless lyrics. Their worldly message is to unite at all cost, even at the expense of the truth of God's Word. They teach that love supersedes everything, thus the doctrine of Christ is forgotten. Anything goes with these apostates, just so long as they keep making money.

Not one, and I mean not one, CCM mainstream artist preaches the Gospel on their website. They're a bunch of religious imposters who masquerade as Christians. They are wolves in sheep's clothing, shameful souls, who hurt the cause of Christ. The world is going to Hell. Do you really think that their screeching guitars, sensual singing, worldly concerts and lame religious testimony are going to bring anyone to salvation? How, when they don't even preach the Gospel?

Nearly all CCM artists sinfully embrace the Catholic Church, refraining from saying anything negative about the demonic cult of Catholicism, and are pulling on the same rope as the Devil. The simplicity of the Gospel is corrupted. Opening one's heart to Jesus is not salvation. Jesus' name is thrown around a lot these days, and most professed Christians are not saved. The Gospel has been changed, altered, corrupted, watered-down, perverted, misrepresented, and so forth; but the truth has not changed in any way. The Word of God still stands! Ye must be born-again! (John 3:5).

John MacArthur's False Gospel

Talk about taking a blowtorch to the Gospel. Multitudes of apostate ministers and churchgoers herald pastor John MacArthur as a mighty man of faith; but in reality, he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Perhaps MacArthur's most incriminating work is his book titled “HARD TO BELIEVE,” in which he errantly states...

Don’t believe anyone who says it’s easy to become a Christian. Salvation for sinners cost God His own Son; it cost God’s Son His life, and it’ll cost you the same thing. Salvation isn’t gained by reciting mere words. Saving faith transforms the heart, and that in turn transforms behavior. Faith’s fruit is seen in actions, not intentions. There’s no room for passive spectators: words without actions are empty and futile. Remember that what John saw in his vision of judgment was a Book of Life, not a book of Words or Book of Intellectual Musings. The life we live, not the words we speak, reveals whether our faith is authentic. [emphasis added]

SOURCE: Dr. John MacArthur, Grace To You, an updated quote from his book 'Hard To Believe', page 93

To say that salvation comes from a life lived in obedience and service to Christ seemingly indicates that salvation comes from something that man does. The Bible says that salvation is “not of yourselves... not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort are admirers of John MacArthur, and Cameron promotes The MacArthur Study Bible on his website. MacArthur's false theology has corrupted millions of people. MacArthur supports modern corrupt Bibles and is a Calvinist who teaches that God predestinates people to salvation. MacArthur also tramples under foot the precious literal blood of Jesus.

MacArthur's formula, as derived from his above statement, seems to be as follows:

Man's obedience + man's service to Christ = SALVATION

Does not this formula indicate salvation by works? The Bible consistently teaches that salvation is not based on man's self-righteous works; but rather, upon the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

MacArthur, in the second part of the above quote, makes a statement that is even more problematic: “The life we live... determines our eternal destiny.” The implications of this statement are startling. If MacArthur's statement is true, then Hell is going to be the eternal destiny of every human being! We are all horrible sinners in God's eyes (James 2:10). According to Romans 6:23 and Revelation 21:8 we have all earned for ourselves eternal death in the Lake of Fire. The life we live here on earth does not determine our eternal destiny. It's Jesus' work of redemption that makes salvation possible, guaranteed to those who believe on Him. John 11:25-26, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

It is not our COMMITMENT that saves us, it is CHRIST who saves us. Following Christ is not a condition of salvation. Before we hopefully make the second choice to FOLLOW CHRIST in discipleship (Romans 12:1), we must first COME TO CHRIST for salvation. Before we COME AFTER CHRIST (Luke 9:23), we must COME UNTO CHRIST (Matthew 11:28). The term “BELIEVE” does not mean “turn from sin and follow Christ.” It means “trust fully, rely upon, resting one’s whole weight upon the WORTH, WORD and WORK of Jesus Christ.” We must not re-define saving faith to make it some kind of a “work-requirement” for salvation. Justification is for the person who “worketh not, but believeth” (Romans 4:5).

John MacArthur is really messed-up doctrinally. He says that Jesus' blood soaked into the dirt at Calvary and remained there. In sharp contrast, Jesus told Mary Magdalene in John 20:17, “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” Why would Jesus tell Mary not to touch Him? I'll tell you why! It's because Jesus had not yet ascended unto His heavenly Father, which He says in the rest of the verse in John 20:17, “...I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” The spiritual H.I.V. Bible version, otherwise known as the New International Version (NIV) totally butchers this Scriptures, which read, “Don't hold onto me.” The NIV turns Jesus into some kind of helium balloon that Mary is holding down. What a disgraceful error on the part of the Committee On Biblical Translation that produced the NIV. It makes no sense at all for Jesus to ask Mark not to hold onto Him.

Notice careful why Jesus told Mary NOT to touch Him in John 20:17 of the King James Bible. John 20:17, “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father...” The reason why Jesus didn't want Mary to touch Him was clearly because He had not yet ascended to His Father. The liquid blood need to be sprinkled (Hebrews 12:24) upon the Mercy Seat in the heavenly Holy Place (Hebrews 9:12,24). In Exodus 12:13 God said “WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER YOU!”

Exodus 12:13, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” This is when the 10th plague was upon Egypt, because pharaoh had refused to let God's Hebrew people go from bondage. The Lord said He was only looking for THE BLOOD. A dead lamb in the backyard wasn't enough. The lamb's blood had to be applied. And Mr. MacArthur, I lovingly say this to you as your friend if you read this... Jesus is the Lamb of God, our Passover, and His blood also needed to be applied to the Mercy Seat in Heaven.

The Gospel is so easily corrupted. Don't make the fatal mistake of removing the blood from the Gospel. Jesus' death on the cross, His burial and resurrection from the dead after three days would all have been in vain had Jesus not been the virgin-born Son of God. The Gospel would have been in vain had Jesus failed to live a totally sinless life. The Gospel would have been totally in vain if Jesus hadn't made it to Heaven with the literal, physical, liquid, precious blood that He shed while on the cross. The blood had to be applied, sprinkled on the Mercy Seat (Hebrews 9:12, 22-24; 12:24).

The Universal New Age False Gospel

New Age teaches the masses of this world to believe in a universal Christ that does not conform to Biblical teaching. The one common denominator of all such falsehoods is a tolerance of all faiths as being honored by God. However, Jesus plainly proclaimed in the Bible that He is the ONLY way to God the Father, and thus, the ONLY path to Heaven. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” This means that all the followers of Judaism and Islam are going straight to Hell when they die, because both groups deny that Jesus is the Christ, nor the son of God. They are liars (1st John 2:22).

One of the great joys of being a born-again Christian is contending for the Christian faith (Jude 1:3). I do not enjoy exposing false teachers and stepping on toes, but that is exactly what the truth does. If the shoe fits, wear it! God makes no apologies for His Word. God said what He meant, and meant what He said. The Bible is brutally honest, telling it like it is, which is why so many people hate the Bible, and greedy villains have to pervert it to sell more copies. The true Bible has become very unpopular with this sick-minded, child-murdering, wicked, society in America. Most people don't want a Bible that condemns them to Hell, and calls sin by name, and worships Jesus as Almighty God Who came in the flesh.

The King James Bible is a lonely soul today, sitting quietly and unloved on most bookstore shelves (if it's even there). While churches buy corrupt Bibles by the millions, the lonely King James Bible is left in the dust, waiting for someone to pick Him up and read Him. Jesus is the Word of God, the Living Word (John 1:1-3,14; Revelation 19:13).

Any Christ that is not the Lord Jesus Christ of the Scriptures is a fraud. The Jesus of Mormonism is a fake. The Jesus of the Jehovah's Witnesses is a fake! The Jesus of the Seventh-Day Adventists is a fake! The Jesus of Judaism is a fake! The Jesus of Islam is a fake! The Jesus of Catholicism is a fake!

Catholics teach that Jesus honors His mother in Heaven and that Mary has special power of influence with God, and that Catholics are to praise and honor Mary by reciting the Rosary, so she'll go to Jesus on their behalf. That is Hellish doctrine! Mary is nothing more than a dirty sinner (Romans 3:23). Mary is no more deserving of Heaven than a pimp on the street, or a mass-murdering, or you. We are all sinners in God's eyes (James 2:10). Religion is the worst thing to ever happen to this world. Salvation is not found in any religion; but rather, in a Person—the Lord Jesus Christ!

We are Saved By Christ's Righteousness

The Gospel is profoundly simple, and thus, so easily corrupted. We are sinners and are saved by obtaining Christ's righteousness by faith (Romans 4:5). It's that simple. The Gospel is so simple that it is dangerously easy to corrupt by the slightest change or addition of anything to it (2nd Corinthians 11:3). This is why I vehemently fight against any false prophet who dares to change, add, or diminish from what the Word of God teaches concerning salvation. We are saved by Christ's righteousness. Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; and all these things shall be added unto you.” We cannot be saved by our own self-righteousness, and a good thing because we have NONE to offer God. We all need the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. This means that God attributes Christ's righteousness to us, by faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, to forgive our sins (2nd Corinthians 5:21). Salvation is that simple.

There is nothing in this universe as delicate as the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God made salvation simple, so simple that even a child can be saved by simply believing on Jesus as the Son of God, the Christ. If a person must clean up their life of sin to be saved, then salvation is very complicated. If a person must be willing to turn from sin, it implies that God expects a person to clean up their life of sin to be saved. Again, that is a very complicated Gospel. The truth of the matter is that Jesus paid a sin debt He did not owe, because we owed a sin debt we could not pay. Jesus paid it all.

The Bible says that a man's faith is COUNTED for righteousness (Romans 4:5). That's simple! We believe on Jesus as the Christ Who died on the cross for our sins. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, Who gave His precious blood for our sins, and we are saved by Christ's righteousness. I can KNOW beyond any shadow of a doubt that I am going to Heaven, because my salvation is solely based upon God's love, grace and mercy and has absolutely nothing to do with how I live. No works of self-righteousness are required on my part (Romans 3:20; Titus 3:5). That's the simplicity of the Gospel. Jesus paid it all.

When you start adding human effort and telling people that they need “a little bit more” than just trusting Christ as your Savior, then things start to become ugly and complicated very quickly. Literally, check closely and you will find, that Ray Comfort, Eric Hovind, Chip Ingram, William Lane Craig, Billy Graham, John MacArthur, Jack Chick and numerous others are all teaching a slightly different plan of salvation. They each have their own take, or angel, on how Lordship Salvation works.

For Example: William Lane Craig doesn't believe that your faith is valid for salvation until it has been qualified by the life you live. On the opposite horizon, Chip Ingram says that your belief goes from mere intellectual consent to active faith only when you believe “TO THE POINT” (his words) that you are willing to turn away from a past life of sin. So your faith, he says, cannot save you if you are still hellbent on partying in sin Friday night. Billy Graham teaches the wicked heresy that to be saved a person must “COUNT THE COST” and “PAY THE PRICE.” My friend, there is no cost to count, for Christ paid the cost of our mountain of sins. Jesus counted the cost and paid the price with His precious blood, so we could be freely saved, and not have to spend eternity burning in Hell. By placing human effort into the equation of the plan of salvation, all of these well-meaning men have become pawns of Satan, leading the masses into damnation and Hell forever. You will burn in Hell forever and ever and ever, and you WON'T get out!

When we strip away all the human effort and unnecessary unbiblical requirements which people often add to God's simple plan of salvation, it all then becomes quite clear. The simplicity which is in Christ is that we are saved simply by completely RESTING in Jesus! Hebrews 4:10-11, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” The simplicity of Christ is that there's nothing for us to do to help save ourselves. It's all done! Jesus did it all. The PRICE of the Church is Jesus' precious blood. The PLACE where the blood was applied is the heavenly Mercy Seat in the Holy Place in the presence of God the Father.

I'll close with a wonderful quote from the mighty preacher and gifted scholar, Dr. Harry A. Ironside said...

"When anyone comes promising salvation to those ‘who make full surrender' of all that they have to God, and who 'pay the price of full salvation' he is preaching another gospel, for the price was paid on Calvary's cross and the work that saves is finished. It was Christ Jesus who made the full surrender when He yielded His life on Calvary that saves us, not our surrender in any way to Him."

Note: All Scripture references are only to the precious and trustworthy King James Bible. All modern Bible translations are corrupted by Satan because of the love of money. Satan is a beautiful liar (2nd Corinthians 11:14).

WHY GRACE CAN SAVE THE WORST MAN!

“No one's ever saved by cheap grace, they're saved by priceless amazing grace! We have a miracle salvation provided and preserved by God Himself. Let's give out the Good News of this salvation, simply and faithfully for His glory. Salvation is not cheap. God sent His Son to pay for our sins. It wasn't cheap—very expensive—He just made it free. And when you and I try to add one work to it, we cheapen it! That's when you cheapen it, when you think that it wasn't enough, I've got to add something to it!” —Pastor Yankee Arnold, a precious quote from the excellent MP3 sermon titled, “CAUGHT BETWEEN GRACE AND WORKS!” | VIDEO | MORE HELPFUL SERMONS
