The
demons cried out from the afflicted man, saying, “What have we to do with
Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of God?” When I read this Scripture today, I realized
that many people in the world feel the same way about the Son of God, i.e.,
what do we have to do with Thee? . . .
Matthew 8:29, “And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”
Very few people in society want anything to do with Jesus. Sadly, even most religious people don't want Jesus. I once met a Catholic man who spoke highly about God, but cursed the name of Jesus as soon as I made mention of Him. So sad.
May I say, I want everything to do with Jesus. Jesus is my Savior and God! Jesus is precious to me! Jesus promised in John 14:2-3 that He would go to prepare a place for us, that when he returns to get us, we will be with Jesus in Heaven. Amen!
John 14:2-3, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
I want to be in eternity with Jesus. If you believe on the name of Jesus, then you can have everything to do with Jesus too. The invitation of salvation is extended to all humanity (Revelation 22:17). It is the free gift of God (Romans 6:23).
John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
Our public schools in America want nothing to do with Jesus. Our Supreme Court wants nothing to do with Jesus. Our television producers want nothing to do with Jesus. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders want nothing to do with Jesus. The gambling casinos want nothing to do with Jesus. The brothels, taverns and nightclubs want nothing to do with Jesus. The abortionists want nothing to do with Jesus. Homosexuals want nothing to do with Jesus. Criminal politicians want nothing to do with Jesus. Bible-corrupters want nothing to do with Jesus. Greedy corporations want nothing to do with Jesus. Our apostate churches want nothing to do with Jesus. SIN CITY Las Vegas wants nothing to do with Jesus. They all ask, just as the demons did . . . “What have we to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of God?”
Those today who don't want anything to do with Jesus are equal to the demons who said, “What have we to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of God?” There is no difference. All Christ-rejecters are in the same boat as the demons who await their damnation in Hell (2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:11-15).
When I read this Scripture passage, I immediately praised the Lord for His presence in my life. The believer's body is the temple of God's Holy Spirit (1st Corinthians 3:17). God lives within my body, soul and spirit. I have been born-again by the Word of God (1st Peter 1:23) and have the Spirit of Christ in me (Romans 8:9). I want everything to do with Jesus. Jesus means all the world to me. Jesus is precious!!!
You can have this sin-cursed, sicko, insane world. I'm glad to be a born-again Christian. Heaven is my home.
