A Man's Two Best Friends in
Life
—a DOG and GOD
By David J. Stewart
"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." -1st John 3:16
I think this is such a beautiful truth. I mean absolutely no disrespect to God in any manner; but I sincerely believe that it is more than coincidence that Adam named a dog the exact opposite of how God is spelled. DOG spelled backwards is GOD! Next to God, dog has always been man's best friend.
Genesis 2:19, “And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.”
Could it be that Adam named a dog the opposite of God because Adam saw the love and loyalty that a dog has for his master? I am not likening God to a dog; but man to a dog, and God his master. If every man loved God as a dog loves his master, the world would be a wonderful place to live. Oh that men loved God as much as a dog loves his man!
It is an undisputable fact that a man's two best friends in life are his dog and God. God sent His only begotten Son into the world to give His life for man. Isn't it interesting that only a dog will do the same for a man? Except in rare cases of love and loyalty, a man's wife won't die for him, nor his children, nor his friends, nor his family. But a man's dog, if you treat him or her with love, and they are a good dog, will kill and die for their master. Dogs are truly man's best friend.
A man can leave for just 5-minutes and come back home and his dog will jump up and down in joy, glad to see him, and it is a splendid occasion. But a man can leave for 2-months and come back home, and he's lucky if his own wife will greet him at the door, let alone slobber all over him in love. Dogs treat men much better in the U.S. than American women treat their husbands.
Your dog won't drag you through the court system, steal your retirement, savings and home, and destroy your life; but your wife may very well if you live in the United States hellhole of America. Men don't stand a chance in this feminist, New World Order, agendacized, greedy lawyer, crooked legal system, cutthroat society we erroneously call the “Land of the Free” in America. The whole system is rigged and has been for the past several decades. It's hook and by crook. The whole legal system in America is more crooked than a dog's hind leg.
The word “worship” in the Bible denotes the meaning of a dog licking his master's hand in affection, love and loyalty. Remember this the next time you think that you're worshipping God just because you go to church, and sing a hymn or two, or drop a few dollars into the offering plate. Do you really worship God? We ought to have the same affection for God that a dog has for his master, longing and jumping up and down with genuine joy at the presence of our God. Your dog will love you to death just to eat the scraps from your garbage, and to drink some water from your toilet. Yet people curse God's name in vain and He gave His only begotten Son for us. Woe unto the wicked!
God is more than an awesome God, He is precious! The Lord cares for us in every way, whether we appreciate His blessings or not. The air we breath, and the water we drink, and the food we eat are all from God. The health we enjoy and the gifts of life are all given and sustained by God. A dog can lose an ear, an eye, a leg and his tail; but he'll love you to death if you let him be a part of your life, even if only given the minutest provisions. Oh that men loved God as a dog loves a man. Men are so unworthy of God's love and provisions, and of the gift of eternal life.
You can kick a dog and abuse it, God forbid (Proverb 12:10), and it'll come crawling back to your feet in love and loyalty. God never hurts anyone, and yet people hate God without cause (Romans 1:30). Sin has destroyed this world. Adam opened the floodgate of sin (Romans 5:12). Adam and Eve opened a Pandora's box upon the world. God is not to blame. Who are we to judge matters that we don't understand? Yet, men put God on trial, rationalizing sin and committing evil in the sight of God (Jeremiah 7:10; Proverb 21:2). Oh let us love our God (John 10:33), redeemer (Revelation 5:9) and Creator (John 1:1-3,14)—Jesus Christ!
